Ford and Nissan among companies recalling over 160,000 vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the United States recently announced the recall of over 160,000 vehicles from companies such as Ford, Nissan, and General Motors.

Here is the relevant information about the recalled vehicles issued by the NHTSA from March 31 to April 6:

Ford: Recalling over 105,000 2018-2020 model year Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The reason for the recall is that the seat belt pretensioners for the driver and/or front passenger seats may inadvertently lock, preventing them from retracting or pulling out. Dealers will inspect the date code of the seat belt pretensioners and replace them for free. Owners will receive notification letters on April 14.

Nissan: Recalling 37,003 2025 Kick vehicles because the certification label may incorrectly state the vehicle’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and Gross Axle Weight Rating. Dealers will replace the labels free of charge and mail the new labels to owners. Notification letters will be sent out on May 12.

Cadillac: General Motors is recalling 10,643 2025 Cadillac LYRIQ vehicles. The information in the owner’s manual regarding the vehicle’s head restraints may be incorrect. General Motors will mail owners inserts for the owner’s manual with the correct illustrations and explanations. Notification letters will be sent out on May 12.

BMW: BMW is recalling multiple 2025 models due to a potential loose electrical connection between the starter generator and the battery. Affected models include the 2025 330i, 330i xDrive, 530i, 530i xDrive, 4 Series Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive), 4 Series Convertible (430i, 430i xDrive), 4 Series Gran Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive), and X3 30 xDrive. Dealers will inspect and replace the starter generator and battery positive cable free of charge. Owner notification letters will be sent out on May 23.

Honda is recalling 3,316 2024-2025 ADV160 scooters. The oil pump drive gear may malfunction, leading to a loss of driving power. Dealers will replace the oil pump drive gear free of charge. Notification letters will be sent out on May 26.

Earlier on March 20, Tesla announced a recall of nearly all Cybertruck vehicles sold in the United States to address potential issues with the exterior panels detaching while driving. According to documents submitted by Tesla to the NHTSA, this recall affects over 46,000 Cybertrucks produced from November 2023 to February this year.

At the end of February, NHTSA stated that Volkswagen is recalling nearly 60,500 Audi and Volkswagen vehicles from the 2021 to 2023 model years in the United States due to a potential fault that may prevent the correct display of the gear position.
