Fabor Desserts Lands on China Airlines, In-flight Service Wins International Award

China Airlines continues to delve into local culture and sustainable principles by announcing a renewed collaboration with the renowned “Chanel of the dessert world,” Le Ruban Pâtisserie, starting from May. This partnership expands to all flights departing from Taiwan and some return flights, transforming local Taiwanese ingredients into exquisite high-altitude desserts. Simultaneously, multiple internationally award-winning in-flight amenities and Michelin vegetarian feasts will be introduced, comprehensively enhancing passengers’ flying experience.

Since the collaboration with Le Ruban started in 2022, China Airlines has received great feedback. This year, the two parties have deepened their collaboration by developing seven exclusive desserts tailored for different cabin classes. Le Ruban’s head chef excels at incorporating local elements into French craftsmanship, customizing the desserts according to the characteristics of each flight route.

For the North American region, China Airlines’ Marketing Manager, Chang Chiu-hua, introduced the classic “Grandma’s Lemon Sandwich Cookies” for the Premium Economy Class. Made with Pingtung’s quality eggs and fresh lemons, these cookies showcase a delicate balance of sour and sweet flavors. Meanwhile, passengers in the long-haul Economy Class will be treated to “Oolong Tea Roll with Egg” featuring the deep tea aroma of Taitung’s red oolong tea alongside rich egg taste.

Passengers on the Japan route Economy Class can enjoy the creative and nostalgic “Caviar Beef Crisp,” intertwining savory and fragrant flavors. For passengers in the Regional Economy Class, options include “Grandma’s Lemon Cake Ice Cream,” “Scallion Biscuits,” or the rich “Parmesan Cheese Wafers with a hint of salt.”

Moreover, to enhance visual pleasure, Le Ruban has specially invited Taiwanese picture book artist Chen Yu-ling to design exclusive packaging. Delicate strokes and warm colors depict a vibrant enjoyment of food, with environmentally friendly materials chosen for packaging to uphold China Airlines’ brand promise of carbon reduction and sustainability.

In addition to the culinary delights, China Airlines has also been receiving accolades in on-board service and amenities. Recently, they won dual gold awards for the “Business Class Travel Kit” and the “Premium Economy Class Travel Kit” at the prestigious international TravelPlus awards for Asia/Oceania, as well as the crown for “Best Breakfast Service” from Onboard Hospitality, among other recognitions.

For the first time, China Airlines has collaborated with New York fashion brand Marc Jacobs and Danish design brand FRAMA to launch new travel kits. The luxurious Business Class kits draw inspiration from Marc Jacobs’ classic Vanity Bag and The Snapshot in leather and mist white, exuding understated luxury. On the other hand, the Premium Economy Class kits are introduced in vibrant lemon yellow and Lyon blue. This stylish and functional accessory, already available on the Prague route, will officially debut on the Australia route in May.

Regarding in-flight dining, China Airlines continues to innovate its vegetarian breakfast collaboration with the Michelin Green Star “Little Greenie.” The latest seasonal menu includes:

– Business Class: Spinach Mushroom Quiche with French-style Scrambled Eggs;
– Premium Economy Class: Oven-roasted Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes with Creamed Corn Sauce;
– Economy Class: Little Greenie Salted Egg Pumpkin Cheese Conchiglie Pasta;
– Limited Surprise: “Brown Sugar Tofu Pudding Vegan Ice Cream” will make a special appearance on certain flights, showcasing the charm of Taiwanese creative desserts.

At the recent World Travel Catering and Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg, Germany, China Airlines showcased excellent performance, being nominated for various awards such as “Best Economic Class Dinner Service” (in collaboration with Shuang Yue Food) and “Best Onboard Alcoholic Drinks” (in collaboration with Golden Three Barley). Additionally, in the PAX Readership survey, China Airlines was nominated in several criteria including Best In-Flight Entertainment System and Dining Service in Asia.

Chang Chiu-hua expressed that moving forward, China Airlines will continue to prioritize passenger needs, combining local Taiwanese ingredients, sustainable aesthetics, and international design prowess to define a higher standard of air travel experience for each passenger.
