As the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) becomes more brazen and reckless in its persecution of the Chinese people, it has sparked increasing discontent among the populace. Particularly for those who have traveled overseas and been exposed to different information, understanding the true nature of the CCP has led many to renounce their ties to the party on the occasion of the Global Quit CCP Day on July 1. Many individuals have expressed their hope for freedom and democracy by quitting various CCP-affiliated organizations.
In Germany, a volunteer helping people quit the CCP told a reporter about an encounter at the Titisee tourist spot with a Chinese family. The volunteer spoke to a middle-aged Chinese man, who appeared to be an intellectual, accompanying his child and parents who were visiting from China. After learning about the heinous crimes committed by the CCP, the man agreed with the volunteer’s explanations and immediately decided to quit the party.
The man’s parents also approached the volunteer, expressing admiration for his dedication to helping Chinese people quit the CCP, the Communist Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. The elderly couple shared their own experiences of persecution by the CCP, with the mother warning against party membership. Despite having been members of the Young Pioneers, they agreed to let the volunteer assist them in quitting these organizations.
However, the volunteer noted a decrease in the number of Chinese tourists at tourist spots compared to before the pandemic, indicating a possible reflection of the economic situation in mainland China. Meanwhile, there has been a significant increase in Indian tourists in the region.
During a commemoration event for the Tiananmen Square Massacre in Germany, a woman named Wang publicly declared her withdrawal from all CCP-affiliated organizations on the Epoch Times website. Having come to Germany for studies after the lifting of travel restrictions due to the CCP virus, she gained a deeper understanding of the situation in China that she couldn’t access while in the country.
After moving abroad, Wang noticed the stark difference in news reporting between China and the rest of the world. She found the domestic news coverage to be biased and often distorted, especially in its portrayal of foreign events. Wang highlighted the propaganda and misinformation spread by the CCP and how it affected public perception.
She also mentioned that not all mainland Chinese people are brainwashed by the CCP, citing her mother’s strong aversion to the party following its handling of the pandemic. Wang shared a heartbreaking story of how her grandmother passed away in a nursing home while family members were prohibited from seeing her due to strict restrictions imposed by the authorities.
Through these experiences, Wang’s mother urged her to seek information abroad to gain a better understanding of the situation in China. Wang now realizes that much of the history taught in China is fabricated and manipulated by the CCP. Despite being abroad, she is cautious about expressing her views openly to avoid potential repercussions.
Reflecting on the stark differences between Western societies and China, Wang emphasized the importance of freedom of speech. She highlighted how her personal interactions and exposure to diverse perspectives abroad have shaped her views and deepened her understanding of democratic values.
Wang also shared anecdotes about her father, a Tibetan who had been heavily indoctrinated by the CCP, and the discriminatory treatment faced by ethnic minorities in China. She recounted instances where her family members were restricted from traveling or engaging in certain activities based on their regional identities.
Another individual, Ms. Tian, expressed a profound sense of awakening after moving abroad and witnessing the pervasive lies propagated by the CCP. She highlighted the contrasts in education systems, freedom of expression, and societal values between China and her host country, emphasizing the importance of personal agency and mutual respect in the educational environment overseas.
Ms. Tian’s daughter’s experience of being bullied for expressing a dissenting opinion in school further exemplifies the restrictive environment in China where critical thinking is discouraged and dissent is punished. The family’s decision to participate in activities commemorating the Tiananmen Square Massacre and renounce ties to the Young Pioneers symbolizes their support for freedom and democracy.
Those who have chosen to speak out against the CCP and its oppressive regime have faced various challenges, yet their stories reflect a growing awareness and resistance among the Chinese populace. As more individuals seek information beyond the CCP’s propaganda and strive for greater freedom and democracy, their voices resonate both within China and abroad.
