Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau has announced that a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck at 11:05 pm today (27th), with a depth of 72.8 kilometers. The epicenter was located 32.3 kilometers east of the Yilan County government (in the waters off eastern Taiwan).
According to the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau, the highest seismic levels were reported in Yilan County, New Taipei City, Hualien County, Taipei City, Keelung City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Hsinchu City, Miaoli County, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Taitung County, Chiayi County, Chiayi City, and Tainan City, reaching level 4 on the seismic intensity scale.
