Three and a half-year-old child in Zhoukou, Henan, crushed to death by kindergarten bus

On November 11th, a 3-and-a-half-year-old child was tragically killed after being crushed by a kindergarten school bus in Huaiyang District, Zhoukou City, Henan Province.

According to a video circulating on social media shared by several netizens on November 12th, the accident occurred in Liuzhentun Town, Huaiyang District, Zhoukou City, involving a kindergarten school bus and a child.

In the video, family members of the child were seen gathered outside the entrance of the Golden Childhood high-end kindergarten demanding that the kindergarten authorities take responsibility. A family member was holding a picture of the child and crying, while a banner saying “Give me back my child” was hung at the entrance of the kindergarten.

Responding to inquiries from users in the comments section, the uploader of the video mentioned that the teacher was negligent as they allowed the child to get off the bus without seeing the parents, despite the child being only three and a half years old.

A journalist from the Xiaoxiang Morning Post contacted the Education Bureau of Huaiyang District, Zhoukou City, Henan Province. The staff stated that the safety department of the bureau had intervened in the case, and further details could be obtained by contacting the safety department. However, despite multiple attempts to reach the safety department through the provided phone number, there was no response. When the journalist reached out to the government office of Huaiyang District, the staff mentioned that they had not received any relevant information yet.

On November 13th, the Education and Sports Bureau of Huaiyang District released a public announcement stating that on November 11th, a female child from the Golden Childhood Kindergarten in Liuzhentun Town, Huaiyang District, was involved in a tragic traffic accident. Currently, the driver involved, Mr. Fang, has been criminally detained, and accountability will be determined based on the investigation findings.

The announcement also mentioned that the occurrence of the accident exposed loopholes in the safety management of the kindergarten.
