Meeting between Northern California Chinese School Association and The Epoch Times to Deepen Cooperation and Promote Chinese Culture

The Northern California Chinese School Association, led by newly elected president Fu Qijun in its 48th term, paid a visit to the Epoch Times and New Tang Dynasty Television San Francisco branch on October 27th (Monday). They were warmly welcomed by the station manager Zhang Liang, deputy station manager Cao Jingzhe, and editor Lan Shu. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions about future cooperation directions, with the aim of jointly promoting Chinese education and cultural heritage.

On that day, accompanying members included vice president Liao Xiujing, secretary general Zheng Jingping, public relations director Li Naya, and public relations consultant Gao Yuli. President Fu expressed that the association traditionally visits the media at the beginning of each new term to show gratitude for their long-term support. He also shared the annual activity plan, hoping to involve more teachers, students, and parents through the media to expand the influence of Chinese education.

Although the “Presidential Volunteer Award” was canceled due to budgetary reasons, President Fu mentioned that the association is actively seeking to present the “State-level Volunteer Service Award” on behalf of the state government to encourage students to engage in community service and cultivate a sense of responsibility and civic consciousness.

President Fu emphasized that all members of the association are volunteers who uphold the mission of “serving for education” and are dedicated to promoting Chinese language and cultural heritage. Members wear red vests during activities, symbolizing their hardworking and cooperative spirit like red ants. He expressed gratitude to all volunteers for their selfless dedication, which ensures the smooth progress of activities.

Public Relations Director Li Naya added that President Fu himself holds a managerial position in a high-tech company in Silicon Valley, and despite his busy schedule, he still devotes time to serving the educational community, which has deeply moved all members.

Vice President Liao Xiujing also mentioned that the association serves over 20,000 students and parents, and collaborating with the media can achieve mutual benefits and prosperity.

New Tang Dynasty Television station manager Zhang Liang and Epoch Times editor Lan Shu both acknowledged the association’s efforts over the years in promoting Chinese education and cultural heritage. Zhang Liang expressed willingness to continue covering their major events, such as the Confucius Ceremony, literary competitions, and educational forums.

Lan Shu emphasized that the media has always valued the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and closely monitors the development of the Taiwanese community. They also expressed gratitude for the long-standing support and trust from the overseas Chinese community.

Both parties agreed to maintain a long-term cooperative relationship, inviting more organizations to participate in community cultural activities, promote Chinese education, showcase the cultural vitality of the Bay Area Chinese community, and work together to advance overseas Chinese language teaching and cultural roots.

The association’s activities for this year are diverse, including the Board of Directors meeting and the “State-level Volunteer Service Award” ceremony in December; the literary competition, the second teaching seminar, and the Spring Festival calligraphy event in February; the annual academic competition and award ceremony in March (with approximately 600 to 700 participants); the multimedia presentation competition in April, where the winners will represent Northern California in the national competition; the summer teacher camp and summer camp in June and July, combined with the annual conference.
