Liaoning man exposed for smoking and spitting in pickled vegetable pool.

In Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province, a video of an employee in a pickled vegetable factory smoking and spitting in the pickle pool was exposed, sparking discontent among many people. The news went viral and ignited discussions among netizens.

Recently, a video shot by a netizen in Liaoning Province circulated on mainland social media platforms. The video shows a man standing in a pickle pool in a pickled vegetable factory’s production workshop, using a tool similar to a shovel to flip the pickled vegetables while smoking the entire time and even spitting into the pickle pool.

After watching the video, netizen “thome” commented, “This looks like a common practice, it’s an issue of corporate management, not if it has been discovered.”

Many netizens condemned and expressed dissatisfaction with this behavior, saying, “Such behavior is despicable, this company should be held accountable!”

Netizen “f8025” believes, “Behavior like deliberately contaminating food shouldn’t only be about moral constraints, it should be punishable by law, otherwise, how can we ensure people’s food safety?”

Some netizens also expressed dissatisfaction with China’s food safety. “Huiyingniannian” said, “Every time I see videos of Northeastern pickled cabbage with pork dumplings, pickled cabbage hot pot, they look so delicious, but now it’s ruined, who knows what the pickled vegetables went through before reaching our mouths.”

“Shuizhaomanxiyun” commented, “It’s been years since I’ve eaten pickled vegetables. I used to frequently enjoy pickled fish and pickled cabbage beef noodles, but since the last food safety incident, I never had it again.”

After the news was exposed, on October 27, the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province, issued a situation report stating that the batch of pickled vegetables had been seized, not circulated in the market, and will be destroyed according to relevant procedures. The relevant companies involved are under investigation.

However, the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau staff did not disclose to the Huashang News which pickled vegetable company the video was filmed in and when it was shot.
