Last Sunday, on November 9th, the Northern California Taiwan Chamber of Commerce held its annual business seminar at the Qiao Jiao Center in Milpitas, Southern Bay Area, with the theme “American Dream Silicon Valley Walk”. Approximately a hundred business professionals from North America and Taiwan participated in the event.
Chen Siru, the 38th President of the Northern California Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, welcomed attendees from around the world and the local community at the seminar. She noted that the chamber currently has 200 members and highlighted that the event was the 26th seminar organized by the chamber and the tenth event held this year. She emphasized that joining the chamber is a matter of pride and honor and encouraged all participants to keep moving forward together.
Lin Guixiang, Honorary President of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, spoke at the event, praising the highly cohesive leadership and executive team of the Northern California Taiwan Chamber of Commerce. She highlighted that this year’s theme perfectly embodies the spirit of Taiwanese entrepreneurs striving to achieve the American Dream overseas. She stressed that entrepreneurship requires friendship and support, services that the Northern California Chamber provides to its members.
Wu Yiming, Overseas Affairs Commissioner for Taiwan Affairs in the San Francisco Bay Area and Honorary President of the North American Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, emphasized in his speech that in the era of AI Chat GPT, while information and data are easily accessible, building genuine connections is not easy. He stressed the importance of networking as the foundation for acquiring talent and building successful teams. He encouraged attendees of the seminar to expand their networks for greater success.
Zhu Yongchang, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Office in San Francisco, encouraged Taiwan’s elites to participate in the seminar to acquire the necessary knowledge and realize their entrepreneurial dreams in Silicon Valley. He motivated them, saying, “Today, you bring honor to Taiwan, and in the future, Taiwan will bring honor to you.”
Chuang Yashu, Director of the South Bay Chinese Cultural and Educational Center, expressed gratitude at the event to the Northern California Taiwan Chamber of Commerce for its efforts in uniting the overseas Taiwan business community and promoting economic and trade exchanges between Taiwan and the United States. She also introduced attendees to the “i-Qiao Card” promoted by the Taiwan Overseas Community Committee, explaining its various informational functions and convenient benefits.
Chen Ailan, Head of the Economic Group, and Yan Hongwei, Head of the Technology Group from the Taiwan Office in San Francisco, congratulated the seminar attendees and encouraged them in their entrepreneurial endeavors in Silicon Valley.
