Renowned Taiwanese TV host Shen Yulin recently fell ill and was admitted to the intensive care unit. She has been in the hospital for the past 9 days, and there are various opinions about her condition. On the evening of August 6, it was reported that the cause of her illness had been identified as blood cancer. Earlier, Shen Yulin updated her status on Facebook, revealing her latest condition and admitting that she will be unable to meet with everyone for some time.
The 57-year-old Shen Yulin was hospitalized last week due to multiple organ failure. Her heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys were all affected. The medical team pursued a diagnosis in the direction of blood disorders and on July 31, a bone marrow extraction and examination confirmed that she was suffering from blood cancer.
Currently, Shen Yulin’s liver and kidney functions have recovered, and she is out of immediate danger. The focus will now shift to treating the blood cancer. Apart from chemotherapy, there may be consideration for a bone marrow transplant.
On the evening of the 6th, Shen Yulin confirmed on Facebook that she has a type of leukemia characterized by abnormal proliferation of white blood cells. “Due to the urgent situation, I have been hospitalized for a few days now, and the treatment will continue for a period of time. I may not be able to meet with everyone for a while.” She also thanked everyone for their concern, saying, “Every word of encouragement I have received is in my heart. this support will be the strongest force during my recovery journey.”
