According to a report from Israel’s Channel 12 on Friday, June 20, on the night of June 12 to the early hours of June 13, Israel used special weapons to “decapitate” 10 top Iranian nuclear experts in their sleep.
This operation, codenamed “Operation Narnia,” is part of Israel’s large-scale aerial operations targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and military objectives aimed at weakening Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Sources mentioned that Israel used a special weapon, but details about the weapon are prohibited from being disclosed to the public. Nine nuclear scientists were eliminated in their sleep by the special weapon, with the tenth individual also being taken out subsequently. At that time, Israel decided to simultaneously carry out the “decapitation” operation on these individuals to ensure that no warning was given to the target personnel.
According to an anonymous senior Israeli official, Israel has been tracking Iranian nuclear experts for many years. These ten individuals have been under surveillance since November 2024. As previous assassinated nuclear experts were often killed on their way home from work, these ten individuals mistakenly believed that their homes were safer.
Israeli intelligence agencies believe that the knowledge and experience possessed by nuclear experts would be difficult to replace in the short term, so eliminating them holds more strategic significance compared to destroying military leadership or facilities.
Since the early hours of June 13, Israel has launched large-scale airstrikes in multiple locations in Iran, bombing Iranian nuclear facilities and military targets, and carrying out targeted “decapitation” of key figures.
