Photo Gallery: Tulip Gardens in India Open to Visitors, Thousands of Flowers Bloom to Welcome Guests

Spring is a season of blooming flowers, and the largest tulip garden in Asia – the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden – has opened its doors to visitors. Visitors stroll through the sea of tulips, admiring the colorful flowers, with the sound of cameras clicking around to capture the beauty of spring.

Located on the shores of Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir, at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range, the tulip garden covers an area of 55 hectares, making it the largest in Asia. The garden was first opened to the public in 2007 with the aim of promoting the floriculture and tourism industry in the Kashmir Valley.

This year, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden features 74 varieties of tulips, totaling around 1.7 million bulbs of various colors. In addition to tulips, the garden also cultivates hyacinths, daffodils, grape hyacinths, and narcissus, among other spring flowers. The garden typically opens to the public from March to April, with the tulips blooming for about 3 to 4 weeks.

During the blooming season, clusters of vibrant tulips compete to blossom, displaying shades of red, white, yellow, pink, and purple in a spectacular show of beauty. Each year, besides welcoming tens of thousands of local visitors, this beautiful garden also attracts thousands of tourists from around the world who come to admire its beauty. According to local media reports, last year, over 465,000 domestic and international tourists visited the garden.
