Rock Climbing Jam at Yandang Mountain in Zhejiang, Tourists Stuck at Midway for an Hour.

On May 4th, at the Yandang Mountain Scenic Area in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, tourists encountered a situation of congestion while rock climbing. A large number of climbers were left hanging on the mountainside for over an hour. The scenic area stated that if someone is afraid and needs rescue, it would cost 300 yuan per person.

The incident of “Rock Climbing Tourists Stuck on the Mountainside in Congestion” on May 4th quickly became a hot topic on social media in mainland China. Tourists playing at the Yandang Mountain Scenic Area in Yueqing, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, revealed that while experiencing the Fei La Da rock climbing, they got stuck at the mountainside for an hour due to congestion.

Aerial footage showed a large number of rock climbers stranded on the mountainside unable to move. According to a report from “Henan Business Daily” under the “Jiaodian Video”, the scenic area responded that sometimes due to congestion on the routes, it could cause delays of one to two hours. Staff will conduct traffic control and limit access, but if someone is afraid and needs rescue, they would have to pay 300 yuan per person.

Staff mentioned that previously the rescue was free, but many people kept calling for rescue thinking it was fun.

Public questioned: “Who can stand for two hours as an ordinary person, especially when it’s uncertain how much further to go, it’s desperate.” “Are they not rescuing those who don’t pay, leaving them hanging to become part of the attraction?” “Aren’t they worried about accidents?” “What are the consequences if the rocks loosen and the steel pegs slip out?”

Earlier on May 2nd, Baquan Tourist Area in Xinxiang, Henan, was overcrowded with a large number of tourists being stranded and requiring hours of hiking to descend the mountain.
