On July 1st, which marks the 105th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) establishment, members of various groups in New York braved scorching temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit to present a “gift” to the CCP in front of the Chinese Consulate – a black coffin with the words “End CCP, Bury the CCP” written on it. Participants raised their arms shouting “End CCP! Overthrow the Communist Party! Overthrow the Communist bandits!” as they carried the black coffin to the consulate’s doorstep. Banners in both Chinese and English were displayed, calling for the dissolution of the CCP and an end to persecution.
Groups participating in the “Bury the CCP” event included: the International Alliance of Chinese Democratic Party, Christian Charity Alliance, Awakening New Generation, International Human Rights Watch, and Overseas Chinese Human Rights Lawyers Alliance.
Organizer Jie Lijian stated on X platform, “The hundreds of millions of Chinese people harmed by the CCP have been waiting too long for the Party’s funeral. The demise of the Communist Party is already counting down.”
Jie Lijian further expressed during an interview with New Tang Dynasty Television at the scene: “July 1st, the so-called CCP founding day, marks the beginning of a period of suffering for the Chinese people. We hope this day becomes its remembrance day; the sooner it dies, the sooner the persecution, repression, and bloody rule suffered by the Chinese people will come to an end. We will always toll the funeral bell for the CCP. On this day, the U.S. and the world are condemning its heinous crimes.”
During the event, there was a scene where consulate security officers pulled down the rolling gate upon seeing the funeral procession for the CCP, a sight that was sarcastically commented on by anti-CCP individuals. Democratic activist Yang Maosen remarked, “This scene is also meaningful, symbolizing the CCP sealing its own grave.”
Another organizer and member of the Chinese Democratic Party, Yuan Zhe, said, “The act of carrying the coffin to bury the Communist Party is to let the world know that the CCP is the root of all evil – almost all disasters in the world have the ghostly shadow of the CCP; wherever the CCP goes, there is disaster.”
At the same time, participants also condemned the CCP’s evil law, the “National Unity and Progress Promotion Law,” which came into effect on July 1st.
Yuan Zhe explained, “This evil law legitimizes the CCP’s long-arm jurisdiction over overseas free lands. Chinese people persecuted by the Communist Party in China also face persecution by CCP agents overseas. We hope the free world will be vigilant.”
Yang Maosen added, “This evil law sows hatred among ethnic groups, attempting to legalize the CCP’s repression overseas. This is international terrorism, and the whole world must be wary of the CCP’s transnational repression and resist this evil law.”
On July 1st, Tibetan groups held a massive rally by the river opposite the consulate, denouncing the CCP’s crimes and condemning the “National Unity and Progress Promotion Law.”
