New York City Council Member Wong’s Office Opens on Bensonhurst 20th Avenue

In a cheerful atmosphere filled with songs and laughter, the new office of New York City Council Member Susan Zhuang in the 43rd district of Brooklyn held its grand opening celebration on Sunday (2nd). The office is located at 6514 Bensonhurst Avenue, serving residents in Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, Sunset Park, Borough Park, Bath Beach, and Gravesend districts.

The day featured a celebration with food, live performances, music, and more. A street party was held on Bensonhurst Avenue between 65th and 66th Streets, shutting down the street for the festivities.

Susan Zhuang warmly welcomed any community residents with questions or concerns to visit her office for assistance. She emphasized, “Today marks the opening of my office, but it is truly the community’s office. This is everyone’s office. Regardless of political affiliation, skin color, or background, everyone should feel like this is their home, and they can come here with any issues. The strength of elected officials is determined by the communities they represent. I am honored to represent a community united by values and beliefs.”

Attendees at the grand opening ceremony included U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, State Assembly Members William Colton and Yuh-Line Niou, as well as Eddie Lau, the commanding officer of the 62nd Precinct of the NYPD, representatives from the Governor’s Office, Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, and various local Chinese community leaders who offered their blessings.

Senator Schumer said, “Perhaps one day, we will welcome the next majority leader from New York. I love immigrants, legal immigrants, immigrants who work hard for America. In this community, our immigrants have great values, work hard, strive for their children to have better lives than themselves, and respect their elders.”

Susan Zhuang’s new district office is just a few steps away from the Bensonhurst Avenue subway station, serving as a gateway for voters to access city services and support. The office is equipped with new multipurpose rooms and additional voter services. For Chinese language inquiries, the contact phone number is 718-307-7151 and the email address is [email protected].
