The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on Monday (April 27) that in a nationwide arrest operation over the weekend, 15 illegal immigrant criminals classified as the “worst of the worst” were apprehended, including two individuals from China.
According to ICE’s statement, these illegal immigrants had previously been convicted in U.S. courts, with crimes ranging from child molestation, continuous child abuse, aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, armed assault, drug trafficking, attempted murder, and robbery.
Among the 15 arrested individuals, two are Chinese nationals. One of them is Ruowei Liu, who was convicted in Virginia Beach, Virginia for engaging in prostitution and running a brothel.
The other individual is Dongsheng Xie, convicted of domestic violence assault in Lake Mary, Florida.
This enforcement operation resulted in the arrest of 13 males and 2 females, with individuals from Mexico, Angola, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, and the two mentioned Chinese nationals.
Regarding the operation, Lauren Bis, acting Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stated, “ICE arrested pedophiles, sexual deviants, kidnappers, and other violent criminals this weekend.”
She added, “Our enforcement officers are actively removing dangerous criminals from our communities every day. If you come to our country illegally and break the law, we will find you and arrest you. America does not welcome criminals.”
The convicted criminals captured in this operation have offenses spread across New York, Florida, and Texas. Detailed criminal cases of some include:
– Rafael Garcia from Mexico, convicted of continuous child abuse in Fresno County, California.
– Guadalupe Mercado-Guerra from Mexico, convicted of three counts of indecency with a child by contact in Travis County, Texas.
– Josman Policarpo from Angola, convicted of aggravated sexual assault in Harris County, Texas.
– Carlos Perez-Mendez from Mexico, convicted of criminal sexual assault in Cook County, Illinois.
– Javier Herrera-Moran from Mexico, convicted of premeditated murder with a deadly weapon and firing at an occupied vehicle in Forsyth County, North Carolina.
– Alejandro Santos-Fernandez from Mexico, convicted of breaking into a residence, assaulting a family member obstructing breathing or blood circulation, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Laredo, Texas.
– Catherine Palacios-Medina from Mexico, convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or instrument in Jerome, Idaho.
– Luis Hernandez-Monteverde from Venezuela, convicted of making threats, disorderly conduct, violating a restraining order, and assault in Provo, Utah.
– Rafael Disla from the Dominican Republic, convicted of kidnapping in Orange City, Florida.
– Carlos Zavala-Vargas from Mexico, convicted of armed robbery in Huntsville, Texas.
– Manuel Marin-Jimenez from Colombia, convicted of burglary in White Plains, New York.
– Luis Sanchez-Hernandez from Mexico, convicted of battery, attempted burglary, and possession of cocaine in Orlando, Florida.
– Juan Manuel Valdez from the Dominican Republic, convicted of drug trafficking in Rockingham, New Hampshire.
The Department of Homeland Security has released the photos of these criminals on its official website, aiming to alert the public about these dangerous individuals posing a threat to public safety.
