Lincoln Carrier Strike Group Approaches Iran, Prepares for Multiple Airstrikes

The United States Central Command revealed that the U.S. aircraft carrier strike group “Abraham Lincoln” is approaching Iran, preparing for multiple rounds of airstrikes.

According to the Central Command on Monday (March 16), the Lincoln aircraft carrier is closing in on Iran to assist in carrying out a series of consecutive airstrikes under the “Operation Wrath of the Epic.”

The Command stated that the Lincoln, as the fifth Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, is conducting flight operations “around the clock,” and U.S. military operations in the Middle East are continuing.

The Command also shared a video of aircraft taking off from the flight deck of the Lincoln aircraft carrier.

The Lincoln aircraft carrier left San Diego for the Indo-Pacific region in November last year and was redeployed to the Middle East in January this year.

The U.S. military operation “Operation Wrath of the Epic” has been ongoing for 16 days. The Lincoln aircraft carrier, as the flagship of the U.S. Navy’s combat fleet, has been a focus of attention and a target of false news by Iranian authorities.

Last week, the U.S. military stated that Iran did not destroy or cripple the “Abraham Lincoln” aircraft carrier. Previously, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran claimed to have launched ballistic missiles in the Persian Gulf targeting the aircraft carrier.

The U.S. Central Command stated that the IRGC of Iran had “spread lies from a bygone era” regarding the attack.

The Central Command issued a statement on X website, saying, “It needs to be clear: the ‘Abraham Lincoln’ aircraft carrier strike group continues to control Iranian airspace from the sea.” The statement refuted claims that the aircraft carrier had been disabled.

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had earlier claimed to have launched four ballistic missiles at the Lincoln aircraft carrier.

On Monday, the Central Command also released a video showing U.S. airstrikes destroying Iranian military installations. The Command captioned the video, stating that the U.S. military had targeted thousands of Iranian military objectives to eliminate threats posed by the Iranian regime presently and in the future.

Commander Cooper of the Central Command said in another video update on the situation that over the 16 days of the conflict, the U.S. military had conducted 6000 combat flights, targeting a significant number of Iranian military objectives.

The Central Command also mentioned that hundreds of U.S. fighter jets make up the largest-scale military firepower deployment by the U.S. in the region in decades.

The U.S. Central Command once again rejected Iranian falsehoods on Monday. The Foreign Minister of the Iranian regime claimed that the U.S. was using one-way attack drones to strike Gulf states and hold Iran accountable. The Central Command stated that this was a fabrication by the Iranian authorities.

The Command posted on X platform articles and images showing that the Iranian military had launched thousands of unmanned drones and missiles at neighboring countries, indiscriminately attacking civilian hotels, commercial airports, residential areas, and economic infrastructure. The U.S. drone strikes only target Iran’s military capabilities to eliminate threats in the region. This is the truth.
