NBC host asks fans to pray for her missing mother.

NBC’s “Today Show” co-host, Savannah Guthrie, took to Instagram on Monday to ask her fans to pray for her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie. Authorities have stated that Nancy may have been kidnapped from her home in Arizona, and there are currently no leads on her whereabouts.

Savannah, in her Instagram post, expressed her faith in the power of prayer, stating, “We believe in the power of prayer, in the power of united prayer, in love, hope, and goodness. We believe in humanity, most importantly, we believe in Him.” She shared a photo with the caption “Please pray.”

She continued in her post, thanking everyone for praying for her beloved mother, describing Nancy as a steadfast, kind, and loyal servant. Savannah urged her followers to join in prayer, believing that their collective prayers would bring comfort to her mother, saying, “We need you all.”

Showing resilience in the face of her mother’s disappearance, Savannah referenced a passage from the Bible, writing, “‘He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in Him.’ This verse from Isaiah is timeless and relevant to all of us.”

The post concluded with a heartfelt plea, “Bring her back home!”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona confirmed that the last known sighting of Nancy was at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue in Tucson’s northern region on Saturday night around 9:30 pm. She was brought back home by her family at that time.

Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that a relative contacted authorities around noon on Sunday, reporting Nancy missing when she didn’t show up at church. A search was immediately launched. Nanos emphasized at a news conference on Sunday, “We have virtually exhausted our resources.”

Earlier on Monday, Nanos informed the press that investigators found evidence of a crime at Nancy’s home, ruling out the possibility of her leaving voluntarily. He confirmed, “She did not walk away on her own, we know that, and after processing the crime scene, we are convinced this is indeed a criminal act.”

Nanos added that the search and rescue operation had concluded, emphasizing, “We don’t consider this a search and rescue operation; it’s more of a criminal investigation at the crime scene.”

NBC News reported that evidence suggests Nancy sustained injuries during her abduction, but the severity of her injuries has not been disclosed. Nanos disclosed that Nancy’s health condition required medication for mobility issues, and timely intake was critical for her well-being.

Nanos further stated that there have been no ransom demands made in connection with Nancy’s disappearance.

In her post, Savannah expressed gratitude for the diligent efforts of law enforcement and urged anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Office at 520-351-4900.
