Magician Liu Qian’s performance team collectively poisoned by food, causing stir.

On September 1st, the topic of “Liu Qian’s performance team collectively suffering from food poisoning, magic show temporarily canceled” trended on hot search. Many netizens are concerned about what kind of food they ate that led to the poisoning.

On August 31st, some netizens reported that when they arrived at the venue in Hangzhou for Liu Qian’s magic show, they were informed that the performance was canceled at the last minute. It is reported that Liu Qian personally came forward that night to explain that members of his performance team were rushed to the emergency room on the early morning of August 30th due to food poisoning, which forced the cancellation of the performance on August 31st.

On the night of August 30th, approximately 30 members of Liu Qian’s touring performance team suffered food poisoning after consuming the working meal provided by the organizer’s outsourced supplier, experiencing symptoms such as abdominal pain and vomiting before being urgently hospitalized.

Liu Qian stated that the staff had intended to proceed with the scheduled performance that night as much as possible, and they were ready to perform on-site. However, as some members were still unwell, the decision to cancel the evening show was made without informing the audience in advance.

It was announced on-site that the performance scheduled for August 31st would be postponed to September 2nd, and ticket holders could still attend and occupy the same seats for the rescheduled show. Additionally, audiences were informed that they could request refunds through all ticketing platforms.

When asked about reimbursement for travel expenses by the audience, the organizers mentioned that a compensation plan would be announced three days later. Many audience members expressed understanding, although some requested Liu Qian to perform a few small magic tricks and take photos together. Liu Qian did not perform any magic tricks but instead played a piano piece, fulfilling the audience’s request for a group photo.
