Former President of China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. Liu Anlin was referred to judicial authorities.

On October 12th, the official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission of the Communist Party of China announced that Liu Anlin, former Party Secretary and CEO of China Life Insurance Company, had been expelled from the Party, had his benefits revoked, and was referred to the judicial authorities.

According to the announcement, Liu Anlin engaged in irregular operations causing significant losses. He used his authority or position to help multiple relatives and friends secure employment. He illegally held shares of non-listed companies, misappropriated public assets, issued illegal bonuses, and recklessly wasted the company’s property. He was seriously irresponsible in his work, failed to fulfill his duties in entrusted investment projects, leading to serious consequences. His lifestyle was corrupted and decadent. Liu also illegally purchased affordable housing, misused insurance funds, embezzled public property for personal gain, and accepted bribes and other illegal benefits.

Liu Anlin was investigated in March last year.

Public information shows that Liu Anlin was born in 1963 and entered the insurance industry in 1990. He held various positions including Chief Information Technology Officer of China Life, General Manager of the Beijing R&D Center, General Manager of the Jiangsu Branch, and Head of the Beijing Branch.

From February 2013 to March 2015, Liu Anlin served as Vice President of China Life. From 2015 to January 2019, he was the Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Chairman of China Life Insurance (Overseas) Limited in Singapore.

In February 2019, Liu Anlin became the Executive Director and CEO of China Life Property and Casualty Insurance, becoming the third CEO since its establishment and also serving as the Chief Risk Officer from August 2021.

In August 2022, Liu Anlin was reported to have left China Life Property and Casualty Insurance. It was reported that he was relieved of his position as CEO due to issues related to the management of Moutai liquor in overseas companies. Upon his departure, Liu expressed regret, saying, “I apologize for the misunderstandings and inconveniences caused by my poor management of Moutai liquor in overseas companies (Hong Kong).”

According to “Tianyancha,” on March 20th, 2023, there was a business change in the China Life Property and Casualty Insurance Co., Ltd., with Liu Anlin stepping down as the legal representative and general manager.
