Hong Kong Actor Jiang Tao Rumored to Have Fallen Into the Sea at Victoria Peak, Rescued by Passing Ship and Sent to Hospital

Hong Kong idol boy band “MIRROR” member Jiang Tao, who previously ranked third on the list of “TC Candler’s 100 Most Handsome Faces,” is highly popular. On June 24, he was reported to have fallen into the sea in Hong Kong’s Western District. Fortunately, he was rescued by a passing boat and taken to receive medical treatment. Currently, his life is not in danger.

According to reports from Hong Kong media, Jiang Tao fell into the sea near the Western District Provisional Market at around 4 p.m. He was rescued by a boat and brought ashore. He remained conscious throughout the ordeal and was first taken to the Central Government Pier before being transferred to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment, and later to a private hospital.

Photos of Jiang Tao being rescued, drenched in black clothes and sneakers by the Marine Department’s boat, circulated online. He was seen lying on the boat with a firefighter pressing his back and another personnel holding a towel. Another photo of Jiang Tao on a stretcher also went viral on the internet.

Jiang Tao’s manager, Sister Hua, responded to the media on his behalf, stating, “It was just an accident due to carelessness on his part. I’m fine, please rest assured, and I hope there will be no speculation. I’m really sorry for causing everyone to worry.”

Around 9 p.m., Jiang Tao posted a photo on social media with a thumbs up gesture and the caption “Don’t worry, see you tomorrow.”

Jiang Tao’s company, Makerville, issued a statement on social media regarding the incident: “Jiang Tao was running by the sea in Western District this afternoon. He felt dizzy and unwell, and woke up only to find himself rescued. Jiang Tao is resting in the hospital without major issues, and he is grateful for the help during the accident. He apologizes for causing concern but assures everyone that he is fine and will meet with you all soon. Please refrain from unnecessary speculation.”

Mr. Li, a fisherman who witnessed Jiang Tao falling into the sea, stated that he saw a man in dark clothes sitting by the sea at the pier, suspected to have fallen into the sea accidentally when standing up. Mr. Li threw a lifebuoy for him to hold on to tightly and shouted for help upon seeing a Marine Department navigation boat nearby. Eventually, the navigation boat rescued the man who fell into the sea.

Regarding the reasons behind Jiang Tao’s fall into the sea, there are several different versions reported by Hong Kong media, which differ significantly from Jiang Tao’s official response.

One version from “Mirror Weekly” reported that Jiang Tao might have jumped into the sea due to low emotions after taking medicine, but he was fortunately discovered by a nearby Marine Department boat, rescued promptly, and taken to Central Pier for medical treatment while being conscious.

The second version suggests that Jiang Tao had been drinking alcohol before falling into the sea, leading to the accident. Considering Jiang Tao’s consciousness after the fall, his mental state seemed fine, leaving the possibility of an accident open. The third version claims that it was an accident during work, with online photos circulating showing Jiang Tao seemingly in a relaxed and joyful mood during an advertisement shoot on the same day. He was dressed in black, similar to his appearance when rescued.

Jiang Tao was originally scheduled to attend a fan meeting on the 25th and then take an early morning flight to Paris. Whether his itinerary will be postponed is currently uncertain.
