On June 4th, in a local event, Hollywood actor Will Smith, known for his role in “Bad Boys,” revealed a supernatural encounter he had experienced nearly 30 years ago when he encountered a ghost and hastily left a hotel.
The 55-year-old Hollywood superstar Will Smith, along with his 58-year-old partner Martin Lawrence, starred in “Bad Boys 4: Ride or Die,” which premiered globally this week. To promote the film, the two actors participated in Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” segment called “True Confessions” game, where the guests and the host read statements about their past, and others had to guess if they were telling the truth.
During the game, when it was Smith’s turn, he read a card that said, “I once had to urgently check out of a hotel because of a ghost.” Smith’s revelation elicited laughter from the audience.
Host Jimmy seemed skeptical of Smith’s story and asked for more details, questioning when this incident occurred. Smith replied, “It may have been 27 years ago.”
Jimmy inquired why Smith had to hastily check out and what had happened. Smith responded with a poker face, saying, “There was a ghost peeing in my friend’s bathroom and erased all the information from his phone.”
Amused, Jimmy asked, “Why would a ghost…?” expressing his confusion, “If you were a ghost and had the chance to scare someone, would you pee in the bathroom and delete their voicemails?” Smith nodded and deadpanned, “It was at the Lanesborough Hotel in London.”
Jimmy jokingly remarked, “So, it was a British ghost?” Will reminisced, “We didn’t hear it speak; we assumed it was British. But that was scary enough for us to check out.”
Curious, Jimmy then asked Smith if he believed in ghosts, to which Smith’s response was ambiguous. Smith maintained a mysterious demeanor, stating, “There are some things you won’t understand, Jimmy.” This response sparked laughter in the audience.
After careful consideration of Smith’s story, Lawrence, Smith’s partner, believed him, saying, “Will’s life is an adventure. I stand on the side of belief – I mean it.”
While Jimmy remained skeptical, Smith insisted that his story was “100% true,” surprising both Jimmy and Lawrence. Jimmy jokingly told Smith, “You got me, buddy!”
The playful exchange provided a lighthearted moment in the show, with the actors sharing a glimpse into their past encounters with the supernatural, leaving the audience entertained and amused.
