Sharon Stone’s recovery from stroke with a survival rate of only 1% takes seven years

Sharon Stone, 66, the former international superstar, has been struggling for herself ever since she suffered a devastating stroke in 2001. Recently, Stone expressed that her health has impacted her acting career, and she is eager to once again become an actress.

During the 1990s, Sharon Stone was a renowned international superstar whose seemingly smooth acting career came to a halt in 2001 when she had a stroke and brain hemorrhage. It took her seven years to gradually recover. Even today, her career is still affected by the aftermath. On the 17th, Stone told The Times, “My acting career has not fully recovered, and I really want to work as an actress again… not just in weak, supporting, or bad roles.”

Stone mentioned, “I want to truly have the roles I have earned, roles that I can perform. I really want to regain my professional career, and I really want to regain my life.” Stone pointed out that after her brain hemorrhage, doctors had informed her of only a one percent chance of survival.

Reflecting on the moment when the stroke occurred, Stone said, “When I fell to the ground and couldn’t get up, kept calling for help but couldn’t get any, that’s when I realized the seriousness of the situation. I thought, ‘I’m having a stroke.'” She revealed that during the stroke, she couldn’t walk, speak, read, write her name, stuttered, and even lacked sensation when reaching for things; her mind was in turmoil.

Stone mentioned that it took her seven years to truly recover. Earlier this month on the Good Morning Britain show, she said, “Seven years later, you’re no longer the darling of the era, you no longer have box office appeal, and the people you used to work with are no longer in power.” “Everything has changed, people no longer really care about that person; it’s like seven years later returning to your original job, you wouldn’t feel like nothing has changed, thinking you’re just back to the same position.”

Previously, Stone stated that since her Oscar nomination in 1995 for “Casino,” she hasn’t been involved in any “substantial” movie filming. Following her stroke, Stone lost everything in her acting career, including her standing in the film industry. Prior to that, she was one of the “hottest movie stars” but gradually lost importance in the acting world.
