Recently, a video showing a passenger being chased by a security inspector at Nanning Railway Station has been circulating on the internet, sparking attention.
The video depicts a security inspector at the station chasing a man with a backpack outside the entrance, with several staff members attempting to intervene to no avail until the police arrived and stopped the altercation.
According to a report by the Huashang Daily News, the incident occurred on September 4, 2025, around 6 p.m. at the No. 7 security checkpoint of Nanning Railway Station in Guangxi. The person who chased after the passenger is He, a 25-year-old security inspector at the station. The man who was chased, identified as Zhang Ling, a teacher at a university in Zhejiang, was traveling in Guangxi at the time.
Zhang claimed that he accidentally entered the security inspection area while rushing to catch a flight, and after explaining the situation to the staff, he was preparing to leave. However, as he passed through the security checkpoint, he heard He cursing at him. Zhang then returned to demand an apology and pushed He’s arm, which led to the chase and physical altercation.
He stated that Zhang had forcefully pushed and pointed at him, causing him to become angry and retaliate by hitting Zhang.
After the incident, the Nanning Railway Public Security Department determined that both parties were involved in a physical altercation and detained them both for 5 days. The penalty decision document indicated that Zhang had 10 abrasions on his body, while He had two scratches on his right cheek.
Furthermore, the police also concluded that Zhang had previously followed other passengers into the waiting area and platforms. Zhang explained that on the afternoon of the incident, he had swiped his card at Nanning Railway Station entrance multiple times due to system recognition failure. Unable to enter, and not seeing any staff members around, he followed other passengers into the waiting hall. When he arrived at the ticket checkpoint on the platform, a crowd of passengers rushed onto the platform without valid tickets, causing him to miss the high-speed train.
Zhang expressed disagreement with the police’s penalty decision and had applied for administrative reconsideration at the Nanning Railway Public Security Bureau, but the decision was upheld.
He believed that the police’s determination was unclear, and there were procedural issues, stating that he would continue to seek justice.
It was reported that contacts were made with the parties involved to further verify these issues. When contacted, the relevant staff at Nanning Railway Station claimed they were unaware of the situation but had recorded the questions raised by the journalist and promptly forwarded them to the relevant department for a response.
A staff member who answered the phone at the Nanning Railway Public Security Department stated that they “do not accept interviews and cannot disclose specific details at the moment.”
