Small Plane Crashes Behind Residential Area in Ohio

On Sunday morning around 7 a.m., a small plane crashed behind a residence in Ohio, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash site is located northeast of Howland, Ohio, on King Graves Road, about 55 miles east of Akron.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated that the involved aircraft is a twin-engine Cessna 441.

Ray Pace, the Fire Chief of Howland, stated that a 911 caller reported hearing a loud explosion from behind their house and saw flames. Pace mentioned that the plane crashed in a wooded area behind a residence.

Authorities, including local coroners, promptly arrived at the scene of the accident. Multiple roads in the area have been closed off.

Weather cameras at the nearby Youngstown/Warren Regional Airport captured thick smoke rising from the area.

According to a report from Nexstar’s WKBN, caution tape and rescue personnel using drones, the Trumbull County Hazardous Materials Response Team, and local power company workers can be seen at the accident site.

As of now, there have been no reports of casualties or the cause of the accident.

Earlier on the afternoon of June 27, a light touring plane crashed in the north-central region of Eure-et-Loir, France, with all three occupants on board (two men and one woman) tragically losing their lives. The cause of the accident remains unknown.
