The U.S. State Department submitted a report to Congress on Tuesday (February 10), identifying left-wing organizations “Code Pink” and “People’s Forum” as providing cover for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to export its influence in the United States.
According to U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Sarah Rogers, organizations like “Code Pink” “slander the United States” and “whitewash” the cruel history of the Chinese Communist Party.
Rogers, responsible for public diplomacy at the State Department, stated in a statement provided to the New York Post, “Partisan figures have been peddling the false ‘Russia collusion’ hoax for years, while turning a blind eye to vast far-left activist networks that are advancing the agenda of the Chinese Communist Party.”
“Organizations like ‘Code Pink’ and ‘People’s Forum’ malign the United States, whitewash the violence of the Marxist regime, provide cover for China (CCP), and also receive substantial funding from donor networks associated with the Chinese Communist Party,” Rogers added.
She emphasized that the State Department will publicly reveal the donors and non-governmental organization networks behind these organizations that advocate for America’s adversaries and attempt to undermine American values, ensuring “full transparency.”
The report received by Congress on Tuesday is titled “Countering Foreign Influence and Interference.” It accuses Beijing of using non-profit organizations such as “Code Pink,” “People’s Forum,” and affiliated groups under the “Singham Network” to conduct influence campaigns in the U.S. and spread pro-CCP propaganda.
The report states that “Chinese diplomats, state-run media, and pro-CCP individuals use social media, content-sharing agreements, and local partnerships to disseminate pro-CCP propaganda. Additionally, Beijing invests in public diplomacy, exchanges, journalist visits, education, and culture projects to enhance its international image.”
“The State Department assessment concludes that China (CCP), Iran, and Russia actively use official media, proxies, and digital platforms to spread propaganda and lies, undermine America’s reputation and policies, and expand their influence,” the report added.
The State Department pointed out that “Code Pink,” while claiming to be anti-war, often promotes pro-CCP views such as “China (CCP) is not our enemy,” while also encouraging American citizens to engage in “red” tourism in China, such as visiting the revolutionary history sites in Ruijin and staged “poverty alleviation model villages.”
One American who was brainwashed after participating in CCP’s red tourism trip wrote that the journey made him “realize” the need to “defend (the CCP) from aggression by our government.”
Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and senior Senator Tom Cotton said, “I have long been calling for an investigation into the connections between ‘Code Pink’ and the Chinese Communist Party. I am pleased that the U.S. State Department is taking action.”
According to the report, the New York-based “People’s Forum” openly praises the CCP’s revolution and studies it as a potential model for left-wing revolutionaries in America.
The State Department stated that “People’s Forum” held a three-part course on the CCP revolution, providing guidance to “those aiming to study the revolutionary process in order to launch revolutions,” and organized protests supporting Venezuelan dictator Maduro after he was detained by the U.S. military.
Reportedly, “People’s Forum” founder Manolo de Los Santos had a meeting with Maduro in 2021.
“Code Pink” and “People’s Forum” have not responded to requests for comment from the New York Post.
Left-wing organizations like “Code Pink” and “People’s Forum” have intricate connections with American leftist tech billionaire Neville Roy Singham. The “Singham Network” he owns consists of non-profit organizations, financial sponsors, and alternative news sources, forming a global network.
Singham himself has been living discreetly in Shanghai for years. He attended a seminar in 2023 aimed at promoting the international image of the CCP, inadvertently revealing his identity.
According to a New York Times investigation at the time, Singham is a socialist donor for far-left causes, promotes CCP propaganda overseas, and is a key figure in funding propaganda activities.
He hides among numerous non-profit organizations and shell companies in the U.S., but a series of investigations revealed his close cooperation with CCP government media agencies, even providing funding for its global propaganda activities.
Singham married Jodie Evans, founder of “Code Pink,” in 2017.
Evans had previously criticized human rights abuses in China, but the position of “Code Pink” underwent a significant change, shifting to full support for the CCP and accusing the U.S. of waging a “war on China,” as well as denigrating democracy protesters in Hong Kong.
According to a report by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in 2025, 19 leftist organizations in the U.S. are associated with Singham, including:
1. Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL)
2. Code Pink: Women for Peace
