The 10th “World Chinese Beautiful Voice Singing Competition”, hosted by New Tang Dynasty Television, concluded its finals on August 31, 2025, at the Merkin Hall of Kaufman Music Center in Manhattan, New York, on a high note. Exceptional talents from around the world showcased their extraordinary skills, leaving the audience in awe. While listening to the beautiful melodies, the audience was able to feel the pure, good, and beautiful spiritual vibrations.
For over a decade, Liang Zhen, who has been following the New Tang Dynasty singing competition, has a special affection for this grand event. She mentioned, “I had to attend this New Tang Dynasty singing competition because their voices are incredibly energetic.”
Liang Zhen is a well-known self-media influencer from Hong Kong and the host of “Zhen Talk.” She mentioned that she had attended numerous operas and large concerts in Hong Kong before, but she noticed a distinct difference in the voices of the participants this time compared to what she had heard elsewhere.
She further explained, “First of all, they use orthodox bel canto singing techniques, and their voices are more penetrating, as if they can pierce through the magnetic field.” “Many times the voices we hear are either through headphones, microphones, or using non-traditional pronunciation methods, resulting in altered sounds. Their voices are very loud, very beautiful, and listening to them leaves you feeling energized.”
“Secondly, there are singers from different countries around the world, many of whom are already at a high level and were attracted to the New Tang Dynasty singing competition. They have been meticulously prepared, they perform music that is pure and they strive hard to achieve that standard.” “In a society where morality is declining, the fact that there is a group of people pursuing such beautiful orthodox music makes you feel that each one of them is shining bright.”
“Their voices are full of energy, and I could clearly feel that energy,” she said.
Liang Zhen praised all the participants for having excellent taste, saying, “This is truly the hall of orthodox music in the world. The participants have gone through rigorous selection, and they are very outstanding. To be able to stand in this artistic hall is a stroke of luck.”
New York businessman Eric Shi, a professional violinist who graduated in violin studies and spent 15 years playing violin in France, expressed being particularly moved by the performances of the contestants after watching the finals. “I feel there is a divine power in their singing voices,” he said.
Describing that feeling, he added, “There is a sense of heartbeat acceleration, an all-encompassing exhilaration.” “This is the infectious power of art, the kind of emotional impact that touches the soul. This cannot be achieved with just skills and stage performance.”
He was most impressed by the performance of contestant Duong Linh Thu from Vietnam, saying, “His singing voice is truly awe-inspiring!”
Eric Shi deeply admires the contestants’ wholehearted dedication and relentless pursuit of art. He said, “Competition in the field of music is intense; to make a living out of it is even more challenging. They are remarkable!”
Tamuz Itai from Israel is an entrepreneur, investor, and stage producer. He previously served as the stage producer for Shen Yun Performing Arts during their performances in Israel.
Coming from a musical family, Itai has been practicing playing the piano and other instruments since childhood. His father was a conductor in a music group. As a child, his parents often took him to opera houses, concerts, and museums.
He mentioned, “I am a regular at the Metropolitan Opera in New York now.” The Metropolitan Opera Association was founded in April 1880 and is the main opera company in New York. It is also the largest classical music organization in the United States, staging approximately 240 operas each year. The Metropolitan Opera is one of the twelve resident organizations of the Lincoln Center.
Itai introduced, “I have heard many high-level performances, and today, I carefully listened to each contestant’s singing, and I can confidently say their standards are quite high.” “While listening, I was thinking to myself that every single individual here has reached such a high level, and if the Metropolitan Opera could have them, it would be truly fortunate.”
Itai believes, “The contestants in today’s finals convey emotions through their singing voices, demonstrating an unparalleled ability to express the essence of the songs. I think they have shown the connection between music and the real world.”
Itai mentioned that there were many moments during the competition that touched him, but what left the deepest impression was the performances of singing Chinese songs with bel canto.
He said, “I have heard it in Shen Yun performances, and it was truly beautiful. Generally, singing Chinese songs is not done using bel canto, but blending the two in a skillful manner yields excellent results. Each time I hear it, it makes me genuinely admire from the bottom of my heart.”
