The 63rd New York Film Festival will be held at Lincoln Center from September 26 to October 13, organized by the Film at Lincoln Center. The organizers have reminded that tickets for some popular screenings this year are selling out fast, and they advise the audience to purchase tickets early.
The opening film of this year’s festival is “After the Hunt,” directed by Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival and then started its North American premiere from New York.
The festival’s highlight is “Father Mother Sister Brother” by American independent film master Jim Jarmusch. The closing film has been selected as the comedy “Is This Thing On?” directed and acted by Bradley Cooper, which will have its world premiere at the festival.
Festival Director Dennis Lim stated that this year’s lineup features a mix of “heavyweight masters” and “boundary-pushing new voices,” showcasing the diversity New York Film Festival is known for. Apart from mainstream works from Europe and the United States, there is a significant increase in the proportion of Asian and non-English language films, highlighting the festival’s international perspective.
Screenings will take place at Lincoln Center and other partner venues, with ticket prices varying based on the screening and seating arrangements.
Since its establishment in 1963, the New York Film Festival has been an important stage for international film art. This year, it not only gathers works from the world’s top directors but also, through sections like “retrospectives,” allows the audience to experience the breadth and depth of film art within just three weeks.
