“Trump: 2026 G20 Summit to be Held at the Doral Resort in Miami”

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the United States will host the G20 Summit next year in Miami, in conjunction with the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Trump described this as “very exciting” and confirmed that the summit will take place in December 2026 at the Trump National Doral Golf Resort. He told reporters in the Oval Office of the White House, “I believe everyone wants it there because it’s right next to the airport, it’s the best location. We will not profit from it.”

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez stood alongside Trump at the announcement. He mentioned that this event will bring huge economic opportunities to the local community, especially benefiting the hospitality industry, restaurants, small businesses, and enhancing the city’s international image.

Trump also announced that he will not attend this year’s G20 Summit in South Africa, and Vice President JD Vance will represent the United States instead.

The G20 members include 19 countries and the European Union, and the African Union, covering Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Trump revealed that the U.S. plans to invite some non-member countries to participate in the 2026 summit, such as Poland; as for inviting Russia, it is still under consideration.

It is believed that this summit will not only promote U.S. national security, diplomacy, and economic interests, but also help boost the tourism industry. In recent years, the U.S. tourism industry has faced pressure due to immigration policies and travel restrictions.

Michael Walsh, a U.S. foreign policy expert, told the Epoch Times that hosting the G20 Summit in South Florida will not only advance U.S. national security, foreign policy, and economic policies on the international stage but also provide an opportunity for Trump and his advisors to showcase the allure of vacationing in the U.S.

During his first term, Trump had also proposed holding a G7 Summit at the Doral Resort, but due to public backlash, the plan was eventually abandoned. In 2019, Trump stated on Twitter (now X platform) that he was willing to host the summit at “zero profit” or even “zero cost,” but criticism from the media and the Democratic Party forced him to cancel the idea.
