Taiwan’s second wave of legislative recalls is set to take place on August 23rd, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been sending a large number of military aircraft and ships to provoke Taiwan for two consecutive days. The Ministry of National Defense stated that from 6 am on the 21st to 6 am today on the 22nd, 27 CCP aircraft and ships were detected, with the Taiwanese military closely monitoring and responding to the situation.
Taiwanese civil groups have criticized the Parliament’s expansion bill led by some Pan-Blue and Pan-White legislators as “an unconstitutional act that disregards public opinion,” prompting a mass recall movement. The second wave targeting seven Kuomintang legislators is scheduled for a vote on the 23rd. The Central Election Commission pointed out that qualified voters without a voting notification can still bring their national ID card to cast their votes.
This morning, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) released information on the CCP’s activities in the airspace and waters surrounding the Taiwan Strait. From 6 am on the 21st to 6 am today, a total of 22 flights of CCP aircraft were detected (including 9 flights crossing the median line of the strait into the northern and southwestern airspace), along with 5 CCP ships, totaling 27 aircraft and ships actively operating near the Taiwan Strait.
According to an activity diagram released today by the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on the CCP’s activities in the airspace surrounding the Taiwan Strait, from 7 am to 7:45 pm on the 21st, 19 CCP main and support aircraft and drones were detected in the airspace of the Taiwan Strait, with 6 flights crossing the median line.
Furthermore, from 7:45 am to 8:40 pm on the 21st, the Taiwanese military detected 3 CCP support aircraft and drones in the southwestern airspace of Taiwan.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) emphasized that the military is employing mission aircraft and coastal missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the situation.

The military is closely monitoring and responding to the ongoing activities of 27 CCP aircraft and ships near the Taiwan Strait.
