CCP obstructs treatment, activist Yin Xuan in critical condition urgently calling “I want to live”

Human rights defender from Hubei, Yin Xuan, has been persecuted and imprisoned for a long time, suffering from torture-induced illnesses, with his blood pressure soaring to 300 mmHg, and multiple suicide attempts. After his release, he has faced obstacles from authorities every time he tried to seek medical treatment in Beijing. Recently, he urgently called for help from the outside world: “I hope more people pay attention to my situation so that I can survive.”

Since 2012, Yin Xuan has actively engaged in public welfare and human rights activities in Beijing. He has called for the abolition of the labor camp system and the crackdown on black prisons, as well as supporting events such as commemorating Lin Zhao, the “Ten Gentlemen” incident in Zhengzhou, and the court trial of elderly veteran Fan Muge in Suzhou.

In March 2015, Yin Xuan was detained for forwarding a list of stability maintenance personnel from Daye City, Hubei, on WeChat. Later that same year, after the “709 Crackdown” occurred, he was once again detained by the Daye City Public Security Bureau for supporting arrested lawyers and sentenced to three and a half years in prison. During his time in prison, he was severely beaten, resulting in injuries to his eyes and legs that have not healed to this day. He was released in December 2018 upon completing his sentence.

In May 2019, Yin Xuan was detained again in Daye City for commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown. In November 2021, he was sentenced to four years and six months. During this period, he endured torture and beatings, and his blood pressure reached a dangerously high level of 300/220 mmHg, putting his life at risk. He staged a hunger strike in protest and was later secretly transferred to a hospital room at Daye City Fourth Hospital.

Yin Xuan recently told Epoch Times that the Daye Hospital is like a black prison, where during his 490-day detention, unidentified personnel hired by the local public security frequently subjected him to violent beatings. He described the physical abuse he endured as worse than anything he had experienced in his previous imprisonment, making him feel better off dead than alive.

Due to his blood pressure reaching 300, Yin Xuan suffered from severe headaches and was often beaten until he felt dizzy and unconscious. The combination of beatings and sickness made him feel hopeless, leading him to attempt suicide multiple times by smashing his head against walls and windows, slashing his wrists with broken glass and nails while guards slept, and one failed hanging attempt. Despite screaming for help in agony, no one paid attention.

He mentioned that even though he was hospitalized, in the seven to eight months he spent there, no doctors or nurses came to check on him.

On April 8, 2025, Yin Xuan was released after 490 days of secret detention, returning home with his weight reduced from over 160 pounds to 110 pounds. He was diagnosed with severe coronary heart disease, and his eyes, liver, kidneys, and stomach functions were damaged, putting his life in jeopardy. His family described him at the time as having “only a breath left.”

In May, Yin Xuan went to a major hospital in Wuhan for an examination, where doctors informed him that his condition was critical and he needed urgent surgery at a top cardiovascular hospital in Beijing.

In July, with the help of friends, he managed to make his way to Beijing to seek medical treatment. However, Chen Dunyao, deputy captain of the Daye City National Security Brigade, and his accomplices kidnapped him back to Daye where he was closely monitored.

Recently, Yin Xuan took another risk to go to Beijing for treatment and stayed at a friend’s house. However, officials from the Daye City Political and Legal Affairs Committee quickly showed up, attempting to intimidate him and lure him out, in order to take him away again.

Yin Xuan stated, “I just want to stay alive. Unless the authorities in Daye City agree to let me go to the hospital in Beijing for treatment, I will die here at my friend’s place and never step outside.”

Despite enduring cruel and inhuman suffering, Yin Xuan still hopes to survive.

“I cherish my life more than ever. I hope friends from the outside world can pay more attention to me and help me stay alive!”
