Four children in Guangdong line up in the middle of the road to form a “speed bump”, risking an accident.

On March 8, in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province, four children lay horizontally in the middle of the road, imitating a black and yellow “speed bump”. Fortunately, the driver of a car passing by on that road section noticed in time, preventing an accident. Afterward, the car owner uploaded the footage recorded by the dashcam online, drawing attention to the incident.

The circulated dashcam footage shows a car driving on the road when suddenly an “obstacle” appears in the middle of the road. The speed of the car slows down, and only after the vehicle comes to a stop do the four children stand up and leave.

According to reports from mainland media like the Xinjing News, on the day of the incident, the car owner was using the assisted driving function on the county road when the system suddenly recognized an obstacle ahead and automatically slowed down.

The owner said that from a distance, he thought it was a “plastic bag”, but his wife, feeling uneasy, urged him to take manual control of the vehicle. He stepped on the brake to get closer before realizing that four children were lying side by side on the ground.

After the dashcam footage was posted on social media, netizens commented, saying, “It’s terrifying; ordinary people wouldn’t have survived the encounter with those four kids.” “There are really people imitating speed bumps.” “Now I understand why parents used to report cartoons before.” “If it had been a large truck full of goods, it wouldn’t have been able to stop at that speed.”

On March 9, the staff of the government in the Huanghua Town of Yingde City, Qingyuan, responded that the incident occurred on a Sunday when children were unsupervised and ran onto the road. They have already contacted the parents of the four children to request stricter supervision.
