Sun Li has been wearing a down jacket for 15 years, sparking discussions on her lifestyle attitude.

Chinese actress Sun Li, known for her outstanding performance in the entertainment industry, recently sparked a trending topic for wearing the same down jacket for 15 years, drawing attention and discussion on her frugal lifestyle.

Sun Li was spotted entering a set for a new film still wearing her familiar apricot-colored down jacket. According to her Weibo posts, every winter since 2010, Sun Li has been seen wearing this big coat behind the scenes or in her daily life. Whether during filming dramas like “Weaver Girl Legend,” “Nothing Gold Can Stay,” or the recent “Birthday Coming Up,” this down jacket has been a constant fixture in her winter work routine.

The down jacket was first shared by Sun Li on Weibo back in 2010. At that time, she playfully captioned the post, mentioning that it was a classic design by Japanese designer brand “Mercibeaucoup” and how it made her mother unable to find her and herself unable to find the way home. She even replied to comments from her fans, highlighting the functionality of the oversized hood in covering her head and face against the cold.

In 2018, a netizen ran into Sun Li while picking up their child. In the released photo, Sun Li, wearing sunglasses and without a mask or hat, stood alone in the cold wind, resembling an ordinary mother waiting for her child after school.

Sun Li previously shared about the “oldest piece of clothing” she owned in 2018, describing how this down jacket had been with her through numerous filming projects and witnessed her children’s growth. She emotionally expressed the significance of this down jacket in her life.

Contrary to the glamorous image of celebrities, Sun Li has taken wearing a single down jacket to the extreme. Remarkably, after 15 years, the down jacket showed minimal signs of fading or distortion, maintaining its overall good condition. Many netizens attribute this longevity to Sun Li’s “scientific care methods,” such as reducing the frequency of washing, hand washing instead of machine washing, avoiding dry cleaning and vacuum compression, and storing the jacket by hanging during seasonal changes to prevent crushing.

Sun Li and Deng Chao met on the set of the TV series “Happiness Like Flowers” in 2005, and they got married in 2010, now raising two children. Despite being hailed as the “Queen of Chinese Drama Ratings,” Sun Li’s Weibo profile doesn’t list her acting credits but reads “1+1=4,” indicating her prioritization of family.

Some netizens humorously remarked that Sun Li’s almost unchanged figure over the years has allowed her old clothing to continue its “service.” Many were surprised and touched by Sun Li’s commitment and labeled her as the “frugal and faithful ‘Empress'” (referring to a character in the drama “Empresses in the Palace”). On December 18th, the keyword “Sun Li wearing the same down jacket for 15 years” trended on Weibo.
