In a recent development in the Chinese tumor testing industry, two major controlling individuals have been arrested on suspicion of fraud. The two individuals are siblings.
According to a recent announcement from Shanghai Ruang Gene Technology Co., Ltd. regarding significant company developments, the company’s actual controlling persons, Chairman and General Manager Xiong Hui, and Director and Deputy General Manager Xiong Jun, have been arrested on suspicion of fraud and handed over to the authorities.
Xiong Hui and Xiong Jun are siblings.
The announcement stated that Xiong Hui and Xiong Jun were recently subjected to compulsory measures of criminal detention due to the suspicion of fraud.
On December 6, an announcement from Shanghai Ruang Gene Technology Co., Ltd. revealed that Xiong Jun resigned from his positions as Director and Deputy General Manager for personal reasons and will no longer hold any positions in the company after resignation. Additionally, Deputy General Managers He Junyan and Xue Yuwei also resigned for personal reasons and will take on other roles within the company after resignation.
The announcement also stated, “Xiong Jun’s resignation will not affect the normal operation of the board of directors and management of the company, nor will it have any adverse impact on the company’s standardized operation and daily activities.”
Ruang Gene’s official website indicates that the company was established in 2012 and provides clinically valuable tumor precision medical products and services for tumor precision typing, MRD monitoring, and early screening of tumors. In July 2024, Ruang Gene announced that its domestically developed BCR-ABL P210 fusion gene detection kit NMPA was approved.
