Former Chairman of Chengdu Environmental Sanitation Company Investigated for Corruption

Former Chairman of Chengdu Green Townscape Environment (Group) Co., Ltd., Bao Chun, has been taken down. Bao Chun, known as the “Harvard City Management Officer” for his background as a Harvard master’s degree holder returning from overseas, has attracted wide attention.

According to the WeChat public account “Clean and Honest Chengdu,” Bao Chun, the former chairman of Chengdu Green Townscape Environment (Group) Co., Ltd., is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently under review and investigation by the disciplinary committee of the Chenghua District Commission for Discipline Inspection in Chengdu.

Public records show that Bao Chun, born in February 1980 in Funing, Hebei Province, joined the Communist Party of China in September 2017.

Bao Chun worked at the Chengdu City Urban Management and Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau’s special enforcement team from August 2003 to September 2007, and then studied public policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in the United States from September 2007 to June 2009. After graduation, he returned to Chengdu and joined a sanitation company directly under the City Management Bureau.

Bao Chun, as a Harvard master’s degree holder returning from overseas to work in city management, has previously received media attention.

From November 2010 to July 2014, Bao Chun worked at Chengdu Green Townscape Environment (Group) Co., Ltd.

From July 2014 to November 2025, Bao Chun served as the chairman of Chengdu Green Townscape Environment (Group) Co., Ltd., stepping down from the position in November 2025. Since then, he has continued working at the company.
