Former Trump Advisor Mick Mulvaney to Serve as President and Vice Chairman of Meta

Meta Company announced on Monday (January 12) that Dina Powell McCormick, former advisor to United States President Trump, has been appointed as the company’s President and Vice Chairperson. The parent company of social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, Meta, made this announcement in a press release on Monday.

According to the press release, this appointment comes as the tech giant Meta continues to expand its business operations. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, expressed in the press release that Dina’s extensive experience at the highest levels of the global financial sector, coupled with her deep network spanning the world, make her the perfect choice to assist the company in managing the next stage of growth as the President and Vice Chairperson.

Dina Powell McCormick will be part of the Meta management team to help guide the overall strategy and execution of the company. She briefly joined Meta’s board of directors last year before resigning in December.

With over 25 years of high-level experience in global finance, national security, and economic development, McCormick has held leadership roles at Goldman Sachs for 16 years, serving as a partner and leading the global sovereign investment banking business. During her tenure, she spearheaded some of Goldman Sachs’ most influential and successful economic development initiatives.

A notable aspect of McCormick’s career is her service in two administrations as a senior government official. She served as Deputy National Security Advisor during President Trump’s first term and held roles as a senior advisor at the White House and Assistant Secretary of State during President George W. Bush’s administration.

Her most recent position was as Vice Chairperson, President, and Global Chief Client Officer at the business bank BDT & MSD Partners. McCormick is married to Dave McCormick, a Republican United States Senator from Pennsylvania.

Following the announcement, President Trump responded on the social media platform Truth Social, stating that Dina Powell McCormick’s appointment as Meta’s new President was an “excellent choice” by Mark Zuckerberg. President Trump congratulated Dina Powell McCormick, describing her as a highly talented individual who served the Trump administration with strength and excellence.
