Hainan Boy Drives Mercedes-Benz Recklessly, Causing at Least 3 Deaths

Recently, in Danzhou, Hainan, a car accident involving pedestrians occurred. A boy who had taken drugs drove recklessly on the street, reportedly causing at least three fatalities.

Several online videos have circulated, showing an elderly person unconscious on the road, a black Mercedes-Benz crashed onto the steps of a supermarket entrance, several motorcycles around were destroyed, and there was a trail of blood under the car’s front wheel, indicating someone may have been injured in the collision.

According to local social media posts, on April 7th, a boy around 12 years old suspected of taking “Morphine” drove his parents’ rented Mercedes-Benz from Zhongxing Agricultural Market to Nongken Hospital, then from Nongken Hospital to Hongqi Market, hitting at least two cars and multiple motorcycles along the way, resulting in the deaths of an elderly person and two children.

Public information indicates that Morphine is a non-narcotic cough suppressant that works by inhibiting the cough center in the brain. It is mainly used to treat dry cough caused by colds, acute or chronic bronchitis, pharyngitis, and other conditions. However, excessive consumption can lead to symptoms such as confusion or intoxication, and even criminal behavior like aggression, self-injury, suicide, or homicide.

So far, authorities have not issued any official reports on the incident.
