Salvadoran National Stripped of U.S. Citizenship and Deported

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), also known as the Immigration Bureau, announced on Tuesday, February 24th, that 58-year-old Salvadoran man and convicted pedophile Isidro Arcenio Alvarado has been sentenced to prison by a federal judge. He admitted to fraudulently obtaining U.S. citizenship, and as a result, the judge revoked his citizenship and ordered his deportation.

The judgment was made by U.S. District Court Judge James C. Dever III of the Eastern District of North Carolina. The sentence was announced by federal prosecutor Ellis Boyle of the Eastern District of North Carolina.

In addition to his prison sentence, Alvarado’s U.S. citizenship was revoked. Prior to this, he confessed to fraudulently obtaining U.S. citizenship.

After serving his sentence, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will deport him.

On April 25, 2023, Alvarado was arrested and charged with multiple counts of child sexual abuse. On July 8, 2025, in the Wake County Superior Court in North Carolina, Alvarado pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent liberties with a child. The state judge sentenced him to probation and ordered him to register as a sex offender.

Alvarado admitted that his crimes occurred between January 1, 2019, and April 10, 2021, when the victim was only 10 years old.

Alvarado was naturalized on October 12, 2022.

He confessed to making serious false statements intentionally in his naturalization application and during the naturalization interview with immigration officials, where he knowingly committed perjury: denying his criminal behavior and lying to immigration officials for the purpose of obtaining immigration benefits.

This case is part of ICE’s “Operation False Haven,” aimed at combating child sexual abusers and other serious criminals who fraudulently obtain U.S. citizenship. The Immigration Bureau assisted in the investigation of this case.
