Henan Company Holds Annual Meeting, Piles 60 Million Cash on Desk for Employees to Collect.

As Chinese New Year approaches, at a corporate annual meeting in Henan Province, there was a display of 60 million RMB cash on the tables for employees to pick up on the spot, with one employee counting nearly 100,000 RMB in just 10 minutes. This unusual scene attracted online onlookers.

According to reports from mainland media, on the evening of February 13th, the founder and chairman of Henan Mining Crane Co., Ltd., Cui Peijun, held the company’s annual meeting, allowing all employees present to participate in picking up cash.

The company reportedly made a profit of 270 million RMB last year and allocated 180 million RMB for employee year-end bonuses. Among them, 60 million RMB was provided in cash for employees to pick up at the annual meeting.

After the awards and recognition segment, the cash counting segment commenced. The long tables were covered with hundred-yuan bills and 40 cash-counting machines were provided to assist in verifying the amounts.

Frontline employees with different lengths of service were divided into three groups for cash counting: 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes.

There were clear rules for the cash counting segment: employees had to count the cash with their bare hands, and they had to stop immediately when the allotted time was up. After self-reporting the amount counted and signing for confirmation, they had to proceed to the cash counting machine area for verification.

If the amount reported by the employees matched the cash counting machine, they could take the full amount. Any mistakes would result in a tenfold deduction, and the funds obtained would be evenly distributed among all team members. Any cheating behavior would result in immediate disqualification.

According to reports from the scene, one employee counted 91,000 RMB in 10 minutes, but after the cash counting machine verification revealed an overcount of two bills, they were able to take home 89,000 RMB. Many participating employees joked that they were counting money until their hands felt sore.

The annual meeting reportedly had 800 tables set up, with the company giving out 60-70 million RMB more than last year, and the cash counting time extended to 15 minutes. It was reported that there were about 7,000 employees and family members present at the annual meeting.

In response, mainland netizens have been discussing the matter fervently:

“This is just Cui Peijun’s personal behavior! In fact, he is not considered a super-rich person! There are many richer than him! But his generosity is a bit hard to understand! Maybe only he understands it himself!”

“This boss is a figure similar to the former richest man in Hebei Province, Sun Dawu.”

“There probably isn’t a second boss like him in the whole country.”

“All bosses should learn from this boss.”

“I heard this boss is a person of faith.”

“This company has a boss who loves to spend money, giving out bonuses every year, making every employee happy. The company doesn’t go public, doesn’t owe debt, doesn’t borrow money, and doesn’t let the employees live in misery.”

“Cui Peijun once said at the annual meeting that he knows life is hard, and life is even harder. Life is tough, asking for help is even tougher. He also suffered a lot when he was young, and he said he couldn’t let his employees go through what he did in his youth without money in their pockets.”
