Boxing King Tyson Boosts MAHA Movement: Promotes Healthy Diet on Super Bowl

On February 8th, during the Super Bowl, an advertisement promoting healthy eating endorsed by boxing champion Mike Tyson will air. This advertisement aims to support the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement. The U.S. Secretary of Health posted on their platform on February 6th, stating that the advertisement delivers one of the most crucial messages in the history of the Super Bowl, which is “eat real food”.

In the 30-second advertisement, Tyson shares his personal story and feelings. He reveals the tragic loss of his 25-year-old sister due to obesity and heart disease, attributing processed foods to nearly ruining his life – “I was fat and disgusting, eating anything, weighing up to 345 pounds.” As Tyson tearfully admits, “I hated the way I looked, I wanted to kill myself.”

Tyson emphasizes the urgent need to address America’s issue with processed foods, stating, “We are the most powerful nation, yet we have the highest obesity rates.” After expressing these sentiments, Tyson takes a bite of an apple in the ad as the message “Eat Real Food” appears on the screen.

U.S. Secretary of Health, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., also shared the advertisement on his platform on February 6th, reiterating the significance of the message to “eat real food”.

Sponsored by Make America Healthy Again (MAHA), the advertisement highlights the new dietary guidelines released by the Health Department in January and urges viewers to prioritize consuming real foods. MAHA is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the health and well-being of all Americans.

MAHA posted the advertisement video on their Facebook account on February 6th, stating, “While other celebrities endorse soda and junk food during the Super Bowl, Mike Tyson chooses to speak the truth. Processed foods are killing Americans, and now is the time to fight back.”

The shocking reality presented by MAHA reveals that over 40% of American adolescents are overweight, 38% are in prediabetic state, 79% of American children’s diet comes from highly processed foods, a much higher proportion compared to similar countries where it is below 20%.

Despite being the most powerful country on Earth, the U.S. is also the unhealthiest and most obese. MAHA declares that this must change now.

The advertisement initiates a national movement to bring real food back to American tables: reforming SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) to prioritize whole foods over soda and candy, ensuring schools and the military serve nutrient-rich foods rather than toxins, and empowering families to reclaim control over their health.

The Super Bowl, an annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), is one of the largest and most influential sporting events in the U.S. Normally held on the last Sunday of January or the first Sunday of February, this year’s Super Bowl will officially kick off on February 8th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
