On November 2, 2025, US President Trump congratulated the Los Angeles Dodgers for winning the 2025 World Series of Major League Baseball (MLB) and invited the team members to visit the White House.
President Trump took to his social media platform “Truth Social” to post his congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers for their victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in the seventh game, securing their championship title.
In his message, he wrote, “Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a game won by an incredible performance!!! A bunch of weaker men could never have won this game, not even the sixth game. So many stars made it all happen. Congratulations also to the team owners, they did an amazing job. See you at the White House!!!”
During the intense seventh game held on Saturday, the Dodgers were mostly trailing behind the Blue Jays who were playing on their home turf; however, they managed to stage a comeback in the 11th inning with a 5-4 victory. This marks the Dodgers’ second consecutive MLB World Series championship victory since their win in 2024, becoming the first team to defend their title since the New York Yankees’ three-peat from 1998 to 2000.
The White House traditionally hosts the MLB World Series champions every year, and after his return to the White House this year, President Trump previously invited the 2024 champion Dodgers for a visit in April.
In October 2024, when the Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees, then Republican presidential candidate Trump praised the team players for their resilience, talent, and “movie star” appearance.
The Dodgers are one of the championship teams that have visited the White House during Trump’s tenure, along with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL) and other championship teams who received recognition from President Trump.
Inviting championship teams to visit the White House is a longstanding tradition.
