According to the U.S. financial news CNBC, the latest technology immigration report from global human resources and payroll company Deel shows that the United States ranks second in the number of technical personnel working abroad among all countries worldwide. India tops the list as the largest exporter of technical personnel, with the United Kingdom ranking third.

The report also stated that 68% of India’s population is of working age (15 to 65 years). The top five countries receiving Indian technical personnel are Canada, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States.

Deel’s immigration manager, Masha Sutherlin, mentioned that international employers are eager to hire American tech talents from renowned universities, startups, and venture capital firms. They also seek individuals who have contributed to leading companies in the industry like Google. She added that American technical workers possess an “innovative spirit,” which global leaders want to bring into their companies.

Many American technical workers are taking on operational roles overseas, which means they may be hired as experts to assist foreign companies in expanding their business or as a way for foreign companies to adopt best practices from American firms.

However, the United States is also a popular destination for foreign employees.

Deel stated that in terms of recruitment, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Canada recruited the most foreign workers globally in 2023. However, based on visa applications collected by Deel in 2023, the United States is the most sought-after destination for foreign tech workers.

Entrepreneurs, senior executives, and technical managers, particularly high-skilled talents, are eager to work in the United States. They indicate that the main reasons for applying for visas are securing new jobs, seeking a path to citizenship, benefiting from preferential tax rates for technical immigrants, improving quality of life, and ultimately reuniting with their partners.

The demand for American employees by global companies is not limited to technical positions. According to Deel’s recent global recruitment report, the number of international companies hiring American employees increased by 62% last year.
