On November 10th, a video of “Son assaulting 93-year-old mother” circulated online. The video showed a man first loudly questioning an elderly lady with white hair, and then repeatedly slapping her face, causing the old woman to scream in pain. Later, the elderly woman ran to the kitchen, and the man followed, grabbing her hair and pressing her to the ground to continue the assault.
According to reporters from “Jiemu News” on November 11th, the incident took place in Wujin District, Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. Officials from Changzhou city stated that they are investigating the incident and confirmed that the individuals in the video are indeed a mother and son.
On the evening of the 11th, the official report from Jiaze Town, Wujin District, Changzhou City, stated that at 18:16 on November 10th, they received a report of assault, and police on the scene learned that Yang, due to a trivial matter, had a dispute with his mother, Chen, and physically assaulted her. Currently, Yang has been arrested, and the specifics of the case are under investigation.
This video has sparked public outrage.
