Recently, in Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, a female cadre named Yue, from a unit in Bazhou District of the Communist Party of China, was reported by her husband for having an extramarital affair with a male cadre named Duan from a town under the jurisdiction of the district during a young cadres training program in 2024. Netizens criticized the state of affairs in the officialdom as “completely rotten.”
According to reports from mainland Chinese media such as Modern Express and Urban Scene, a photo and information indicating Duan’s self-disclosure of the affair revealed that Duan, a cadre in a village under Bazhou District of Bazhong City, who had been married for less than a year, engaged in an extramarital affair with Yue, a female cadre from a unit in Bazhou District during the young cadres training in 2024 from August 31 to September 30.
It is reported that Duan was the office director of a department in his township. On the morning of November 19, Duan was removed from his position due to this incident. Chat records circulated online showed that the woman actively seduced the man.
Mainland Chinese netizens expressed frustration over the state of the Communist Party officialdom, questioning the kind of cadres being cultivated:

The mainland media did not disclose the specific location of the training, but generally, training for local cadres is conducted at party schools, and it is usually a prelude to promotion.
The Communist Party uses Marxist-Leninist ideology to train its party officials at all levels. The atheism and evolutionary theory advocated by Marxism have long been considered a kind of poison, the source of corruption and debauchery.
Some people even bring mistresses to the party school. Former Deputy Mayor of Maoming, Guangdong Province, Yang Guangliang, kept multiple mistresses. In 2000, while studying at the Central Party School, he brought two mistresses to Beijing for a secret meeting. Zhang Zonghai, former Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Chongqing Municipal Committee, took a female university student under his wing during his one-year study at the Central Party School.
The party school has even become a place for debauchery, a place that harbors corruption and dirt.
On September 27, 2016, a WeChat public account called “Civil Law Media” in mainland China reported that Cai Yue (alias), an unmarried woman from Fujian, was introduced to Pan Shengping, the head of the Internal Reference Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee Office, by Daoist Yuan of a temple in Fu’an. Pan Shengping, somehow obtaining her phone number, contacted her and invited her to the Fujian Provincial Party Committee School. In the suite of the party school, Pan Shengping poured her a cup of tea, which made her lose consciousness after drinking it. When Cai Yue woke up, she found herself lying in his room’s bed with her clothes disheveled, having been violated by him… It was said that the Provincial Commission of Discipline Inspection stationed at the Provincial Party Committee Office investigated the matter but it eventually came to nothing.
