Father of China’s “National Vaccine” Falls from Power, Public Concerned about Vaccine Safety

China’s Pharmaceutical Group Limited’s Chief Engineer and Chief Scientist, Yang Xiaoming, has recently been stripped of his position as a member of the National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China due to “serious violations of the law.” Yang Xiaoming had led a team in the development of a domestic COVID-19 vaccine and was hailed as the “Father of Chinese Vaccine.” This news has sparked great concern among the public regarding the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China announced on April 26th that, in accordance with relevant regulations, Yang Xiaoming’s role as a member of the National People’s Congress had been revoked, and his position as a member of the Nationalities Committee was correspondingly removed.

According to the announcement, Yang Xiaoming was dismissed from his role as a member of the National People’s Congress by the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Tibet on March 29th for “suspected serious violations of discipline and law.” This is the first official statement claiming that Yang Xiaoming was suspected of “serious violations of discipline and law.”

According to Lianhe Zaobao, scholars interviewed speculated that Yang Xiaoming’s downfall may involve issues of pharmaceutical corruption and vaccine development, but the case may touch on sensitive matters related to the COVID-19 virus, which officials may be hesitant to disclose details about.

At 62 years old, Yang Xiaoming, a Tibetan from Gansu, has been engaged in fundamental research on infectious disease vaccines for a long time. He has served as the Director of the National Joint Vaccine Engineering Research Center, the chief scientist of the National “863” Program Vaccine Project, the chief scientist of the China National Pharmaceutical Group, the chairman of China Biologic, the director of the National Key Laboratory for the R&D of New Emerging Infectious Disease Vaccines, and the director of the National Joint Vaccine Engineering Research Center.

Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus (COVID-19) in Wuhan in 2020, Yang Xiaoming led a team to conduct on-site testing in Wuhan and developed the first batch of test kits recommended for official use by the Communist Party of China within 48 hours.

Subsequently, Yang Xiaoming led the development of the COVID-19 inactivated vaccine and boasted that they rapidly developed the new COVID inactivated vaccine in just 98 days, earning him the title of “Father of Chinese Vaccine.”

However, many experts believe that the rapid development of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine does not align with medical norms. The swift introduction of the domestically produced COVID-19 vaccine by the Communist Party of China is seen as an attempt to seize the international vaccine market. Meanwhile, after Chinese citizens received the domestically produced COVID-19 vaccine, various adverse effects emerged, including a significant increase in cases of leukemia and cardiovascular diseases, leading to a growing number of sudden deaths.

Yang Xiaoming’s downfall has fueled significant concerns among the public regarding the safety of vaccines.

Internet media personality and prominent Weibo user “Internet Junming Shuo” said: “The man hailed as the ‘Father of COVID-19 Vaccine’ has been caught. Remember, the initial vaccine recipients were all from within the system. I recall reports back then that he and his team developed the inactivated vaccine in just 98 days, which was quite insane.”

Agricultural blogger and influential Weibo user “Nongteyouxuan Xuyafeng” questioned: “So, did the vaccine he developed in such a short time really have a preventive effect? Is there a situation where it not only fails to prevent diseases but also harms the body? I have some doubts in my mind because after the pandemic, I indeed feel that my body is not as healthy as before and I easily catch colds. The parents of my junior high school classmates who didn’t receive the vaccine are nearly eighty years old and are in good health.”

Financial blogger and popular Weibo user “Qinniushi Yewenchang” expressed: “Shocked, but we can only rely on our luck. After all, when getting vaccinated, it’s a blind shot, not up to us. Post COVID, there have been more symptoms such as premature graying of hair in young people, those who can’t handle light physical work due to weakness, etc.”

Digital blogger and well-known Weibo user “Huanbin” pondered: “Upon reflection, could it be that there really are problems with the COVID-19 vaccine? Many people who were in good health after taking the three vaccine shots suddenly saw a decline in their physical condition.”

Traditional Chinese medicine talk show host and renowned Weibo user “Yizhesiyuan” remarked: “Being seriously accused of violating laws and regulations indicates there are significant issues. Many people have reported finding lung nodules after being vaccinated. Is there a connection between the two?”

“Qiulimu sharly-” shared: “I caught a cold in early April, took a lot of medicine targeting it, but still ended up with pneumonia. It’s been almost a month now, and I’m still not better. Every day, I feel very tired and don’t want to get up, which has seriously affected my work and normal life. Before getting vaccinated, I rarely took any medicine since I was young, let alone being hospitalized. After taking the COVID-19 vaccine, nodules appeared in my lungs, and for the past three years, any cold I catch is ineffective with medicine, and it inevitably progresses to pneumonia, requiring hospitalization for antibiotics.”

Yue Jianrong, a professor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, posted on social media saying, “The downfall of China’s ‘Father of Chinese Vaccine,’ Yang Xiaoming, has sparked discussions on the safety of the vaccines he oversaw in terms of research and development. The relevant departments should respond to society’s concerns promptly.”
