“Eleven” Holiday: 130 Children Lost in a Guangdong Tourist Area Over 3 Days

During the National Day holiday in China, major tourist attractions were overcrowded, leading to a high number of children getting lost. According to reports, there were 130 cases of children going missing in just 3 days at Dameisha in Shenzhen, causing concern online.

Reported by Shenzhen TV’s “First Scene,” during the first 3 days of the National Day holiday, there were around 300,000 visitors at Dameisha Beach Park in Shenzhen with approximately 600 missing person cases reported, including over 130 cases involving children. Additionally, in Futian’s Bijia Mountain Park, where drone performances took place, nearly 20 cases of children getting separated from adults were reported, prompting police intervention.

Guangzhou police revealed that they had resolved three of these missing persons cases, while the progress of other cases was not disclosed.

In recent years, there has been a rise in missing juvenile cases across mainland China, sparking worries online. Many netizens expressed their concerns, with comments such as: “Wow, the number of missing children is frightening.” “Oh my goodness, this is terrifying, so we must pay attention when bringing children out.” “Where did they go missing?”

Some expressed: “With so many people crowded together during the holidays, human traffickers could easily blend in without anyone noticing.” “These holidays are most attractive to child traffickers, so we must pay attention to our children.” “I don’t know where you’re going to play? Play in the water? Play with people? Or play disappearing?” “Human traffickers love crowded places, they can easily take children away while their parents are busy taking pictures.” “Precaution is better than cure…”

Others left comments in the video comment section, asking: “Have all of them been found?” “I just want to know, were all of them eventually found?”

Some netizens raised doubts, questioning: “With over 600 cases and 130 children missing, does that mean 500 adults got lost?”
