Earth Day: Skyview Shopping Center Hosts Third Annual “Bee Conservation Campaign”

The Shops at Skyview announces the third annual “Bee Conservation Initiative” in celebration of Earth Day. On Earth Day, they will be sharing honey and bee products produced by the bees they cultivate with the public.

The Shops at Skyview launched the “Bee Conservation Initiative” in 2022. At the rooftop of the shopping center, they have been safely nurturing 50,000 bees and producing honey and related bee products. As Earth Day approaches, they will be sharing the results of their cultivation with the public.

Sun Weijia, the regional marketing manager of the operating group Shopcore Properties, stated that this year marks the third year of The Shops at Skyview hosting Earth Day events. From Sunday, April 21, to Monday, April 22, a series of educational and entertaining activities will be held to raise awareness about ecology conservation and sustainable development. Bees play a vital role in the ecosystem, and the event will feature beekeeping demonstrations and bee products for the public to learn from.

The “Bee Conservation Initiative” will include live demonstrations and tutorials by beekeepers, eco-friendly handicraft making, nature-themed music performances, a “mini green plant cultivation” experience provided by Queens Botanical Garden (held on Sunday), DIY honey candles (held on Monday), as well as tasting sessions of honey food products from various brands at the mall, and experiences with honey beauty products. Guests on-site will have the chance to participate in surprise lucky draws to bring home various items produced by Skyview’s bees, such as honey, soaps, and scented candles.

The event is free to attend, and interested individuals can register in advance on the organizer’s website: theshopsatskyviewny.com
