Daniel Wu can’t find his real name on TikTok, results in hilarious reactions from netizens.

Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu recently caused a stir on social media when he shared a photo of a shop sign with the name “Wu Yan Zhu Guo Shao” (literal translation: ‘I Yan Zhu Cooks Hot Pot and Grills’). He then took to Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) to search for “Wu Yan Zhu” and was surprised to find numerous accounts with the name “Wu Yan Zhu,” none of which belonged to him. In response, he humorously called on all the “knockoff Daniel Wus” from around the world to “stop it.”

On the 18th, Daniel Wu uploaded his first short video on Douyin where he could be seen continuously scrolling through his phone, searching for “Wu Yan Zhu” on the app, hoping to find his own account. However, the search results revealed a plethora of fake Daniel Wus appearing before him, such as “Mohe Daniel Wu,” “Urumqi Daniel Wu,” “Hangzhou Daniel Wu,” “Sansha Daniel Wu,” “76-year-old Daniel Wu,” “Little Daniel Wu,” and even “Bald Daniel Wu.”

Amused and puzzled, he exclaimed, “If all of you are Daniel Wu, then who am I?”

Subsequently, Daniel Wu stopped looking at his phone, gazed out the window, and quoted a line from the movie “New Police Story,” in which he starred, saying, “Let’s all the ‘Ah Zus’ from various places ‘stop it.'”

Upon viewing the video, netizens burst into laughter and left comments like, “You are Daniel Wu, then who am I?” “How about you call yourself ‘Hong Kong Daniel Wu’ and I’ll be ‘Hangzhou Daniel Wu,’ we won’t interfere with each other,” “Hong Kong Ah Zhu, I’m Hangzhou Ah Zhu,” and “You’re so handsome, you don’t look like Daniel Wu.”
