Congressman Panetta Visits Taiwanese High-Tech Companies in Silicon Valley.

On October 1st, federal congressmen from the United States visited the Taiwanese technology company Agape-1 Technology in Silicon Valley. They stated their commitment to supporting the development of Silicon Valley startups through legislative measures such as adjusting tariffs and tax policies, strengthening talent cultivation, and simplifying the listing process.

Representing California’s 19th district, Democratic congressman Jimmy Panetta, the son of former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, has been re-elected for four terms since 2016. His district covers the southern part of San Jose, hilly areas of Santa Cruz County, and extends along the coastline of Monterey County to the northern part of San Luis Obispo County.

During the visit, co-founder Mr. Ted Lee introduced the company’s development history to Congressman Panetta and explained the latest updates on fourth-generation technology, including the application of robots in agriculture and technologies such as drones, combat robotic arms, and metal shields. Congressman Panetta was accompanied by CEO Dr. Yu-Shan Fang, Chief Technology Officer Dr. Qing Tian He, Mr. Lee, and chairwoman Ms. Rong-Mei Wang as they toured the company and witnessed a demonstration of intelligent autonomous patrol robots.

During the demonstration, company engineers showcased the advanced visual and language intelligence capabilities of the robots, including conversing with humans and describing objects accurately.

Additionally, the demonstration showed how the robots can recognize threats when someone is armed and issue warnings accordingly.

Congressman Panetta commended Agape-1 Technology for its innovative technology, particularly in enhancing public safety in San Jose with the latest technology. He emphasized that this is the direction that the manufacturing industry in the United States, especially in Northern California, urgently needs. He expressed gratitude for the hard work of the company’s team and looks forward to further technological development and application in the future.

To support American technology companies, Congressman Panetta suggested that during legislation, Congress should not only impose tariffs but also provide tax incentives for high-tech industries such as research and development, chips, and domestic manufacturing.

He emphasized that only by combining tariffs with domestic tax incentives can the United States effectively promote the reshoring of manufacturing and gain an advantage in intense competition between the US and China.

He also mentioned the need to expand H2B visa quotas to address the talent issue required for high-tech development and to prioritize vocational education in the United States, especially regarding university education for the manufacturing industry.

Furthermore, Congressman Panetta stated that he would consider the company’s proposal to simplify the listing process for artificial intelligence enterprises and looks forward to Agape-1 being listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

It was reported that Verizon also visited Agape-1 on that day, expressing interest in collaboration and considering the technology as a future trend. Verizon hopes to provide wireless technology support such as precise GPS positioning for Agape-1.
