In Ohio, USA, a senior couple dressed as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus was pulled over by the police for speeding. What followed was an amusing conversation between the couple and the officers. The police decided not to issue a ticket but instead took a photo with the couple, exchanging greetings of “Merry Christmas!”
The Sheriff’s Office of Fulton County, Ohio, shared this heartwarming incident on December 20 on their Facebook page along with a short video captured by the body camera of the officer on duty.
In the video, the officer pulled over a Ford car and upon approaching, he discovered an elderly man dressed as Santa Claus in the driver’s seat, accompanied by his wife dressed as Mrs. Claus. He couldn’t help but exclaim, “Santa Claus!”
The couple revealed during their conversation with the police that they dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus to surprise their daughter who was working.
Santa Claus promptly informed the police that he had a Concealed Carry Weapon permit. The officer jokingly asked, “Santa Claus needs a gun too? Times are tough nowadays!”
Santa Claus explained that he needed to protect himself, while Mrs. Claus humorously added, “The North Pole isn’t as peaceful as it used to be!”
When the officer pointed out that Santa Claus was pulled over for speeding, Santa admitted that he hadn’t been paying attention to his speed.
Asking Santa if he had a driver’s license, the elderly man, while looking for his license, got out of the car with an air of frustration, stating, “Santa Claus is 100 years old!”
The officer jokingly said that if they were to ticket Santa, he would surely end up on the “naughty list” this year and not receive Christmas gifts. Ultimately, no ticket was issued, and Santa was only advised to drive slower. Santa humorously replied, “I’ll send Rudolph to find you.”
At Mrs. Claus’s request, they took a picture together, wishing each other a “Merry Christmas!”
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook, “Santa and Mrs. Claus were flying a bit too fast through Fulton County. No tickets were issued, just a friendly reminder that even the sleigh should go slow. Christmas will proceed as usual. Wishing you a safe and happy holiday!”
