New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will start collecting congestion fees from vehicles entering Manhattan south of 60th Street starting from midnight on June 30. In the first three weeks of June, MTA will hold six online information sessions to assist the public in understanding the congestion pricing program.
During each 60-minute online session, MTA will explain why New York needs congestion fees, how the congestion relief zone south of 60th Street in Manhattan will operate in terms of fees, discounts, exemptions, and important information that the public needs to know before the fees go into effect on June 30 (Sunday). There will be a question and answer session following a brief presentation.
The schedule for the 6 MTA congestion fee online information sessions is as follows: (1) June 5, Wednesday, from 11 am to 12 pm; (2) June 6, Thursday, from 12 pm to 1 pm; (3) June 10, Monday, from 6 pm to 7 pm; (4) June 14, Friday, from 10 am to 11 am; (5) June 18, Tuesday, from 12 pm to 1 pm; (6) June 18, Tuesday, from 7 pm to 8 pm.

Starting on June 30, MTA will collect fees from vehicles entering the congestion relief zone in Manhattan (south of 60th Street) as part of its efforts to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and provide funding for enhancing the public transportation system offered by MTA.
